Move Well. Play Well.💧

For me, it’s not just about practicing, teaching, and performing - it’s also about finding ways to stay healthy, keep moving, and make time for the people who make life fun.

I found @dripdropfitness, and I’m having so much fun with it! 💦✨ It was honestly hard for me to find a sport I actually enjoyed, but this one definitely stuck. And going there together with @josiebassoonie makes it even more fun!

Because this new chapter is about taking care of the whole musician - and the whole person. 🤍

What’s your favorite way to stay active after school? 👇

As a practitioner whose work is set on the foundation of the mind/body connection, I have to practice what I preach 🥵

These are 3 simple and intentional things I like to incorporate throughout my week

🐱 Spending time with my fur babies, connecting with your pet releases oxytocin and serotonin for all things feel good. Not to mention a great way to tune into your senses by petting their soft fur and feeling the weight of a 17lb lap cat (shout out to Gaston)

🧘🏻‍♀️A moment to center and breathe before a day full of clients and teaching. I do a short practice, sometimes only a focus on the points of contact and a few deep breaths will do it. This is a practice I come back to when I need throughout the day

🪩 MOVE! While I am for calming, grounding, centering practices, nothing shifts my energy or makes me feel more alive than dancing. It is the only form of movement that gives you your daily cocktail of serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, and endorphins while increasing your neuro plasticity and creating new neural pathways. It is the only exercise that actively promotes memory while also boosting stamina, muscle growth, power, and mobility. You get smarter as you get sweatier and sexier 🔥Need I say more??

Comment below your favorite way to connect with your body! Or let me know if you want to steal one of mine 🤭 or just let me know if you want more Gaston appearances 💘

A lil belated birthday post; ya ya April was a while ago…HUSH.

33 years on this earth. Thank you to everyone and everything that’s raised me thus far 🫶🏻

Few tid bits from this aged brain 🙃:

- Adding LOL to any text adds whimsy to your life
- don’t be afraid to dance, apparently everyone is now? But like it’s fun? So you should.
- groceries; expensive af aye?
- Gas too? LOL
- Gotta FAT raise but taxes & inflation don’t show that haahahahahah
- Constant tear between anti government warrior and go with the flow easy breezy stay in your bubble girly
- Lift weights if you don’t want osteoporosis, IM SERIOUS.
- You can say no to anything, but don’t get SO good at saying no you miss out on things you actually wanted to enjoy
- SPEAK. YOUR. TRUTH. Or find yourself in a shit situation later.
- Keep up with those who matter, even when it’s hard. Let them know it’s hard when it is. Communication is KEY to adulthood.
- There is always room for change, and you should be ready for that.
- If I hear one more god damn woman talk about skinnytok, or being toned, or how lifting will make them bulky, I will quite literally lose it.
- Take the moment, find the good, feel the gratitude.

🌟 Client Spotlight: Summer Griffith, Drip Drop Fitness 💧

When Summer Griffith, founder of Drip Drop Fitness, began her journey as a new small business owner, she turned to the SBDC at FAMU for guidance, accountability, and support.

Through one-on-one consulting, Summer gained valuable insights to strengthen her business and increase her visibility in the Tallahassee community.

💬 “I was really new to being a small business owner, so I was really thirsty for advice, counsel, and guidance… I really needed help with making our name known in Tallahassee.”
