Cobbled Fragments with @lindy_trenholm was a fantastic workshop. Seeing Lindy’s beautiful work in the Sommerset Studio is amazing, but touching it with your own hands…well it’s just yummy!

Watching Lindy at work and learning some new techniques from her was so inspiring. Such a great experience.
And then, of course, there’s nothing better than being in the company of fellow creatives, making new friends, as we gathered together in the lovely studio @mycreativeneststudio with @dritzau .

My art book is still a work in progress, but I’m excited & inspired and can’t wait to work more on it at home!

The Cobbled Fragments workshop at the Creative Nest studio in beautiful Santa Barbara began Monday. Now it’s a sweet memory. The next begins tomorrow.

✨I just added in this kind of child like joy in the fall at my cottage studio. ✨There is something wildly powerful that happens when we gather in creativity & get out of our thinking minds and into our knowing hands and heart. These photos are a testament to that.

The September long weekend workshop has been filled since it went up (a whole glorious group of friends came in and filled it...cannot wait) so....At the request of several I added in an ✨October long weekend (10/22-1025) workshop✨ where we work in big chunky hand made art journals and do slow stitching on a beloved piece of clothing....plus unknown magical happenings, dinner at my home, treasure hunting....giggles....vintage hat shopping...etc.

I also added in a ✨one day on Fall Renewal Wed, Sept 23rd ✨ AND a ✨stitching circle on Wed, Aug 19th🪡.

Our second workshop:

🧵One tall canvas.

🧵One prompt: we are our own home.

🧵Nine interpretations.

🧵Nine beautiful humans willing to be fully seen.

✨Art reminds us that one small decision can transform a piece of art. ✨That is exactly what happened with each of these canvases.

One tiny bit of metal, a scrap of red, or a little velvet...is all it took to create a tiny shift that led to a transformation.

We all put ourselves in our work. And it was so refreshing & energizing. This is what the world needs now: get out of our heads snd into our hearts and hands. We show up as strangers and leave as old friends.

A week ago today, I was feeling immense gratitude for my refreshed spirit, happy heart & content soul as a 3-day “We Are Our Own Forever Home” mixed media workshop with @colleenattara in the inspiring & relaxing comfort of @mycreativeneststudio (@dritzau) was coming to a bittersweet close. It was so delightful to be immersed in creative community with wonderful women artists - @brenda.mcfaul @runfreeranch @foraging_for_feathers @artsy_girl_at_heart @heartsdesire @orbitingoracle @see_linda_go @cindy.dorsa. The whole experience felt like being “home!” 🏡💚

This was my 2nd year of treating myself to a workshop experience with the dynamic duo of Colleen & Darcy, & I look forward to more!!!

P.S. My piece is still in process, so I’ll share the final reveal soon. There are few glimpses in this reel.

Caring for my beautiful 95-year-old momma around the clock is one of the greatest honors of my life… but I also knew I needed a little time away just for me.

One of the most restorative things I do for my soul is attend an art retreat—stepping into a beautiful, creative space surrounded by kindred spirits.

When I saw that @colleenattara was hosting a workshop at @dritzau / @mycreativeneststudio in Santa Barbara, I immediately knew it was exactly what my heart needed. Having experienced one of Colleen’s gatherings before in her own studio, I already knew the magic she creates—welcoming, inspiring, thoughtful, and filled with beautiful connection…and the project spoke to me, “We are our own forever home.” 💙

It was the perfect creative getaway for me… a chance to breathe deeply, recharge, reset, and simply create with a group of lovely, inspiring women. 💙

Now, back to Bluebird Studio (and my momma💙) to continue the joy of creating after so many inspiring connections, meaningful conversations, and moments shared with kindred spirits.
