Past weekend hit different.

140° inside the car. Soaked! 4.9 lbs gone from coaching, driving, and giving everything I had to one of the last open-access HPDE weekends at Circuit of the Americas before COTA’s decision removes public track day access in 2027.

For some people, these are just track days. For us, this is where the community is built.

This is where first-time drivers learn respect for speed. Where students become safer, sharper, more aware. Where coaches pass down the craft. Where friendships form in the paddock. Where someone discovers that motorsports is not just about lap times, but discipline, trust, risk management, humility, and growth.

Having a student in the car and watching the process work reminded me why these weekends matter so much. Access matters. Coaching matters. HPDE matters. Without these entry points, the next generation of drivers, coaches, enthusiasts, and lifelong supporters has nowhere to begin.

COTA has meant a lot to a lot of us. Losing access to this track changes the future of the community around it.

So yes, I drove hard. Coached hard. Sweated through everything. Took in every lap. Because these weekends are becoming more important than ever.

Respect the track. Protect the community. Keep motorsports accessible.

Jesse!

This weekend at COTA was one of those reminders of why coaching matters.

First HPDE weekend. First time driving COTA. First time pushing a fully track-prepped C6 Corvette Z06/Z07-style V8 monster in a real high-performance environment.

We started Saturday with the basics: track driving fundamentals, corner-by-corner instruction, braking zones, traffic management, car control, and understanding what the car was actually capable of. No shortcuts. No ego. Just building one layer at a time.

By day two, the foundation was there. That’s when the work shifted from basic instruction into speed coaching: cleaner execution, safer traffic decisions, sharper braking references, and trusting the car while still keeping everything controlled.

Across nine 20-minute sessions, Jesse went from a true beginner 2:50+ lap times to running a 2:28 at Circuit of the Americas. To put that into perspective, a sub-2:30 lap at COTA is already Very Advanced Group territory. Getting anywhere near that window in less than two days is serious progress.

The best part wasn’t just the lap time. It was the way he listened, processed, and executed. That kind of trust between driver and coach is what allows progression to happen quickly and safely.

Proud of what Jesse and I have accomplished this weekend. Watching a driver build from zero track experience into real pace at the only purpose built F1 track, COTA made every year I’ve dedicated to this sport feel worth it.

Respect the process. Build the foundation. Speed will come.

I can’t wait to sit with Jesse again and keep pushing the limits of man vs machine!

There’s something so symbolic about this photo.

An American-built Dodge Viper ACR charging through Circuit of The Americas beneath the Texas flag. Three icons that represent performance, freedom, and the relentless pursuit of excellence.

What makes this photo even more meaningful is that it isn’t AI-generated. It’s the result of perfect timing, technical skill, and the eye of a talented motorsport photographer who joins us at our events and consistently captures moments that many drivers never get to see from behind the wheel.

The Viper has always been one of those cars that demands respect. No shortcuts, no unnecessary driver aids, just an honest conversation between driver and machine. It’s challenging, rewarding, and unapologetically American.

Sometimes a single frame tells a much bigger story than the lap itself.

To our photographers who stand trackside in the heat, waiting for that one perfect moment, thank you for preserving these memories and reminding us why motorsport is as much an art as it is a sport.

Move over, Porsche boys 🔥

Today we got out on track with Edge Addicts at COTA in the RUSH SR.

Drivers are always surprised when they make their first laps and see what these crazy little cars can do. Price to performance is unbeatable. I think we easily convinced some friends that they need to hop in next time.
