Hydration is a calculated response to sweat loss, applied before, during, and after training.

Fluid and sodium requirements are set by your sweat rate, your training demands, and the environment you train in, so they differ from athlete to athlete.

The goal is fluid balance that supports performance, and more intake does not get you there on its own.

Hectic leg sessions lately in the mecca @lfgcollectivegympie the DOMs are certainly far more noticeable with these machines 🤯

so good to have these fully fueled carbed up sessions, the increase in food definitely playing a big difference in training performance, the strength on every movement is on the up and we love it. 👀😈

We don’t stop!!!

For the last 18 month this guy @goldenlegacycoaching has been reshaping and balancing out my physique through training and execution. It’s been a crazy ride but far out we have made some progress.

Coming to Markus with many old injuries due to reckless training execution faulted in an unbalanced physique. We have used many techniques, adjusted constantly to bring up lagging areas.

Touch while training has definitely been a game changer for me. Tapping or lightly touching the muscle you’re training provides a tactile cue that can help you focus on that muscle and feel it working—the mind–muscle connection.

It doesn’t guarantee recruitment or isolate the muscle, but it can be a useful coaching tool alongside good technique and a controlled movement.

We ain’t done yet. But that’s bodybuilding. We never done but we sure as hell excited to see what we have built. Far out we have worked hard.

Thank you Markus @goldenlegacycoaching
If you want help and expert guidance with your training he is your man. Working out of KUMA fit and has now opened up even more time slots.

Want to compete in bodybuilding?

Thinking about stepping on stage for the first time? These are the lessons I wish someone had sat me down and told me before my first prep.

Some of them I learnt the hard way, so hopefully this saves you a few mistakes. Swipe through and save it for later 👉

Everyone competes for a different reason, and that’s fine, as long as your why actually lines up with who you are and what you want to achieve.

Don’t do it just to say you’ve done it. Set a clear goal and work towards it. And remember, once you’re on stage, the result is out of your hands.

Bodybuilding is subjective, so don’t put everything on a placing that was never guaranteed.

This is the one nobody talks about.

Prep isn’t cheap, and it’s not just food and coaching. Supplements, recovery, gym memberships, registration fees, tanning, photography, travel and accommodation all add up quickly, plus PEDs if you’re enhanced.

Sit down and work out what it’s really going to cost before you lock in a show date, so money stress doesn’t wreck your prep.

Your environment and relationships

Take a hard look at the environment you’re in. Does it set you up to grow and succeed?

Having a strong support system and people who understand what you’re doing makes a massive difference on the hard days. But don’t let bodybuilding take over your relationships.

At the end of the day, you’re still a partner, son or daughter, parent, friend or colleague to the people around you.

It’s going to be hard

There’s no escaping it, so embrace it. Prep and the offseason are hard in their own ways, but they’re only as hard as you make them out to be.

You knew going in that you’d feel like death most days in prep. That’s part of the deal. Push through, see it to the end, and remember the journey is the real reward.

It is a choice

Nobody is forcing you to compete, or to get uncomfortable in an offseason. YOU chose this path. YOU decide to eat less or more. YOU decide to do the extra cardio, and plenty of people aren’t lucky enough to have that choice.

Understand the commitment and sacrifices that come with it, and be willing to make them every day.
