POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Myself and @driverweaves have been quietly working away for the past few months at Macclesfield’s @silkmuseummacc

Working together we designed, punched, and are now weaving our single shuttle design for a 19th century jacquard handloom.

Here’s a snippet of the awesome archive collection at Paradise Mill. Follow along to see what else we’ve been up to! 🌟🧵

Our students excelled at a London-based exhibition celebrating young designers. Amongst those awarded at @newdesigners were @driverweaves whose samples explore 2D-3D woven fabrics; @lil.sanderson.studio whose ceramics are inspired by her hometown Sunderland and @webstertheweaver , whose weaving project celebrates the value of slow, intentional making. Find out more at the link in the bio.

Alongside the release of my book, Touching Distance, I’ll be displaying work at the MSOA Degree Show.

There’ll be copies of the book, as well as some 16x20” handprints, made in association with @pollardstreetphoto 🙏

Come down and see my work, as well as pieces by talented peers across the art school.

*The work remains on display to the public between the 7th and 20th of June.

What a dream it was hosting a knitting workshop @arestaurantwherethelightgetsin on Monday evening ♥️

Was such a treat and a pleasure to meet other knitters both new and seasoned ☺️ we shared skills, tips and techniques and talked all things wool 🐑

Thank you so much to all who attended, Cecile Driver @driverknits who was a superstar assistant and the most attentive hand knit teacher and Jacob and the Where the light gets in team for asking me to be a part of their Responsive Resource series on Wool

Are workshops something you'd like to see more of? Hand knitting, machine knitting or a mix... Let me know ☺️
