We are thrilled to announce that on October 30th we’ll be releasing Death of the Walden Newspaper co., the arresting debut album from Driveway Ceiling, on vinyl (black or opaque forest green) and Special Edition CD.

Are you ready to meet your new favourite neo-psych mavericks? The debut almost-concept album of interstate twenty-somethings Driveway Ceiling unveils a heady brew of trippy sunshine pop with tinges of Tropicalia, art rock and various mind-boggling aural ephemera. The four piece looks both back and forward, finding a balance between the best of 60s and 90s sonic trips while speaking resolutely to and of today.

“From the jangly highs of heaven to the faded fuzz of the earth, driveway ceiling walks Mr. Walden through life and death and back again”…

“This sprawling, 41-track celebration includes an early demo by CVB (‘Vegetables’) alongside the Iggy-like gothic rock of Afterimage, a stately brooding ballad (‘Midnight Chapel’) by the reformed Shiva Burlesque, and the post-punk talking blues of ‘Leslie’s Dream’ by Leslie Medford of The Ophelias (who also contribute ‘80s psych classic ‘Sleepy Hamlet’). From Bauhaus bassist David J with the typically dark and elegant ‘Punishment By Roses’ to the classic sunshine-pop of Driveway Ceiling’s ‘Mr Walden’, The Well delivers an embarrassment of riches” Shindig! magazine
