This drop is always my favorite but not because of the pretty colors. I love the pink but what I love more is the message behind it.

@wearfigs partners with @letsfcancer to put their money where their mouth is and donates thousands of dollars to help others in their fight against cancer.

Stepping into this new chapter as a midwife I will be a provider who helps my patients through a breast cancer diagnosis and I don’t take that lightly. I always say that I want my patients to feel safe, heard and loved and I mean it. I will be there to advocate for them and to listen. Celebrate their victories and hold their hand during tough battles.

The release of F-ing Pink and Fighting Pink is so special. Breast cancer is personal for me and I get a mammogram every year due to family history. We had an afternoon filled with incredible bites. And each bite had an even better reason behind it.

The 7th Annual @bite4thefight brought together restaurants, chefs, local businesses and our community all to honor one very special girl and her legacy.

The @fightonmakenna Foundation was created in memory of Makenna Massi, who passed away at 14 after her battle with cancer. Her family turned an unimaginable loss into a mission to improve the quality of life for children facing pediatric cancer and the families walking through it with them.

The Foundation helps families with parking expenses during treatment and supports programs at @childrensphila including Movement as Medicine, which provides equipment and opportunities for kids to stay active during long hospitalizations, and Culinary Medicine, helping patients and families navigate nutrition during treatment.

💜 That’s what all those bites were **really** for.

It feels like both an honor and a privilege to have spent the afternoon at Bite for the Fight and to help put a little more light on a foundation doing meaningful work for kids and families in our community.

September is NICU Awareness Month, and this one is especially personal for our family.

Both of my girls spent time in the NICU for very different reasons. One was a preemie, and the other was born with esophageal atresia and needed life-saving surgery.

Being a veterinarian was a blessing and a curse in those moments. I understood the medicine, the terminology, the potential complications… but there’s a very different kind of fear that comes when it’s your baby.

What I’ll always remember most though is our NICU team.

They didn’t just sit behind a screen and monitor numbers. They were there…. At the bedside. Explaining. Answering questions. Listening to our fears. Reassuring us. Celebrating tiny victories. Caring for our babies when we had to step away. 🤍

They understood that while they were caring for a patient, we were living through one of the most terrifying experiences of our lives.

To every NICU nurse, doctor, therapist, surgeon, and staff member who shows up for these tiny humans and their families: Thank you.

You may see it as your job.

We see it as a part of our children’s stories that we will carry with us forever. 🤍

For the NICU parents who are in it right now: I see you.

Studying really does pay off 📚➡️🩺

Now that I’m an attending, I can look back and genuinely see how every late night, exam, rotation, and long day of studying was worth it. You don’t always see the payoff while you’re in it—but eventually, you get to live the life you were working so hard for!

And of course, doing it in the new Smokey Taupe from @wearfigs 🤎 Perfect color for fall and just in time for back-to-school season
