@lululemon and @thts.kayyy got to follow me around the last few months through making/ premiering my new work “MY HOUSE” with @fakeknot , Basquiat workshop with my @itz_snoopy , a fab photo shoot with @rydelc styled by @marshishishishi , and to top it off the 3rd annual Ballroom weekend with @vankikiballroomalliance and the annual mainstream functioning Posh Ball I put on with @vancouverballroomarts 😍

Forever grateful for the opportunity to bring Ballroom with me wherever I go, and will forever walk with intention and care to uphold the power Ballroom brings out in all of us.

I look forward to more fabulous moments with you all 💙🦖👑

Watch one of the standout moments from Elektra’s spring season. We’re delighted to share Hurricane, the first movement of Unsung: If the Earth Could Sing, by composer @katgimon with text by @laurenpeatwrites. Created in response to the climate crisis, the work gives voice to a natural world under pressure – urgent, powerful, and impossible to ignore. Turn up the volume! Conducted by Cassie Luftspring. Photography by Mike Grandmaison. Cello by Jonathan Lo. Percussion by Katie Rife. Film by Darryl Ahye. Don Harder, sound engineer. #ElektraYVR #CanadianMusic #CanadianComposer #ClimateCrisis #VancouverArts

We’re excited that 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐇𝐲𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐬 and 𝐅𝐎𝐑𝐌 are partnering to feature two films each month from each of our collections. From Regard Hybrides, they will feature a film from their online collection, and from FORM, they will feature a film from their collection of commissioned films from the past 9 years. This collaboration is an effort to uplift and celebrate screendance/dance film works throughout the year from artists across Canada.

Only a few days left to watch 𝐼𝑛𝑢𝑖𝑡 𝐻𝑖𝑔ℎ 𝐾𝑖𝑐𝑘 (2009) by Alethea Arnaquq-Baril, a dramatic and timeless representation of an athlete performing the traditional high kick; and 𝑁𝑜𝑡ℎ𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐶𝑎𝑛 𝑆𝑡𝑎𝑦 (2022) by Marisa Gold (@feel.the.all) and Darryl Ahye (@drlahye) a film where dance, text and natural elements come together.
