HAPPENING NOW 🚨⚠️

Yaraan Bundle is walking on Djab Wurrung land, located alongside the Western Highway just outside of Ararat, to reclaim her land and stop the logging of Naram Naram Sacred Womens Country.

This is a sacred women’s land, a site of vast cultural significance to the Djab Wurrung Peoples. It is the site of centuries-old birthing trees, including the Grandmother Tree, where many generations of Djab Wurrung women gave birth.

Our ever witnessing Liam Lynch took a final breath with the new moon.

Liam, held 'with-ness'. At the right time, the right place, always with sacred looking instrument in hand.

With the moment. With the music. With the gathering. With us.

He loved reminding me that we met at THAT Oppikoppi. 2001. He would describe the Moodphase5ive moment as if we are all still there. And we are. In the way that he could take the picture.

Pic 2 Liam asked me to pause for a moment, against the Longkloof studios wall. It was late. I'd just arrived. I was newly pregnant with my daughter Yin. About to step into the room to record with Wally Badarou, Aloe Blacc, Ben Zinc, Black Coffee. Red Bull Music Academy 2008. We made music and magic until the wee hours.

Pic 3, September 2023. My back is turned towards Liam and I am unaware that he is quietly witnessing another magical pause that would keep unfolding into more magic, adventure, blessing, bliss, on that full moon night.
(We would end up getting locked in at the fort, find our way out, then squeeze into the tiniest car with 5 other humans for the most surreal ride from castle through city. I don't know how Liam folded his long body into the car, but he did. I just remember growing long arms, trying to hold us all together. On a night we almost died, and didn't, yet somehow felt like something new was born.)

I have such good memories of our gentle friend. I will miss so much, our talks on life in the contemporary colony, shared roots in the Southern African Irish diaspora and that he spelled my surname correctly, with the Irish 'e'.
We spoke of Growing Potatoes, Giant Mythology, the Celtic Medicine, the Thwasa, the Music. The Ancestors. Learning Irish Gaelic with Molly. Ma Afrika. Healing.

Go raibh maith agat Liam, for always getting the coordinates right. Feeling the magic. Sensing where the lines intersect and capturing those points. Just there.
I hope to hold your book of magic in my hands soon. You witnessed us all in this country's musical rebirth.

Thank you to your people for sharing you with us. Comfort to all who love you.

You are so deeply loved and respected Liam @liamlynchphoto ✨

Gugu Dindi Gunyah. / Many Rivers, One Home.
@kutchaedwards Songman 3/10/2026

The river is ever present, never silent.
A carrier of memory, lore and connection.
Holding ancestral knowledge and guiding the journey of return.

A small collection of stills I took of this powerful ceremony.

Gugu Dindi Gunyah ~ Many Rivers

A special Ceremony with Uncle to re-open the Ian Potter state theatre.

Everyone singing their song lines in language while I weave it all together, special and emotional moment for me.
Hearing language my old people weren’t allowed to speak and weaving while listening to that made me so emotional on stage. Just sitting there thinking about what it would be like if parts of us weren’t taken, but lucky we are still here keeping it alive. 👣

Thank you for the biggest honour uncle ❤️
