Spent the last few days on a road trip with some friends, driving from Miami all the way to New Orleans. Some incredible scenery along the way, and we managed to squeeze in a bit of outdoor cooking! 🔥 On the menu, sausage and morcilla (Argentine blood sausage) tacos! 🌮 Seasoned with @alfrugoni salt and chimichurri, topped with a sauce I made using charred peppers and green tomatoes, @melindasfoods green sauce, fire roasted garlic habanero and mayo. The sauce was 🔥🔥🔥 Cooked everything on the Baby Q from @we_are_blok a super portable little grill that fits right in my backpack. Proper handy bit of kit for a road trip! Nearly 160kg of Argentine Beef cooked in New York 🇦🇷🔥🇺🇸 Still trying to take in what an experience @yescheffoodfest was. Thousands of free samples throughout the day, plus serving @argentinebeefusa at the @yeschefreserve alongside some incredible restaurants and chefs. Coming all the way from the UK meant we had to figure out everything. Grills, charcoal, firewood, knives, tongs, trays, coolers, sauces, speakers. Literally every little thing we needed to make this happen. And that’s probably what made this one so special. So many people and brands stepped up to help us get there and make sure we had everything we needed. A massive thank you to our main sponsors @tagwoodbbq , @melindasfoods and @argentinebeefusa for the constant support and for believing in what we do. And thank you to every other brand and person who helped with something along the way. Sometimes you don’t know what a simple introduction is going to become. Chef Tavel Bristol-Joseph and I first connected through an ad campaign for YETI. Fast forward, and this weekend he answered the clarion call, despite a jam-packed schedule, to come represent Guyana and share his food, culture and global perspective. That’s the beauty of this Caribbean culinary fraternity. Different islands. Different journeys. But a shared responsibility to represent where we come from and keep moving Caribbean food forward. Thank you, Chef Tavel, for showing up and reppin’ Guyana with pride. What started as a connection has become brotherhood.
