National Finals summary 🏁🏁

My first event in sportsmanET! Going into this weekend completely blind as I’d never ran the car on the track, and only had a bit of data from messing around at Manston raceway on no prep last month - so Q1 I dialled a 14.90 and ran a 15.13, this put me above Aaron in qualifying (for a round anyway lmao) so I got to give him grief for a bit🤣. Q2 I dialled a 15.05 and ran a 14.62 - miles off but a PB! Q3 I dialled a 14.64 and ran a 14.41 - again another PB!! Q4 came and I decided to dial 14.34 and ran a 14.61, so I didn’t end up progressing in qualifying from Q1 but was all a learning curve going in blind!
E1 was Saturday night, and I had Terry Attree in the focus, nerves got the best of me and o got flustered on the tree giving me a 0.7 light which wasn’t enough to catch Terry at the top end. I’d like to say a huge well done to Terry to making it to the semifinals which unfortunately never got to run due to adverse weather.
So after my weekend was finished Saturday Eve, my crew duties came in for Aaron - who made it to the semi finals!!! But after HOURS of track drying it unfortunately wasn’t enough to allow all remaining races to be ran. But he still managed to walk away with the comeback kid award for the second time this year! Forever proud of you! 🏆
Overall I had so much fun this weekend and I am so glad I took the step to start racing myself. Across the pits I got so much support for my first event and I can’t thank those people enough, you guys made it a weekend to remember.

Definitely got the bug now, so roll on next season !
2026 was a learning curve, but 2027 will be back better than ever & im sure I’ll be able to give aaron some grief back at some point 😉

For now, see you at Flame & Thunder and if not, have a good winter and see you in 2027!
