If you’re gassing out in the first few minutes in a competition match, it’s not likely your cardio. It’s your strategy.

I learned that the hard way years of fighting full force with no energy plan. Trial, error, and a lot of losses before I found my rhythm.

Talked about it with Ray Sue @drraysue. Worth the listen if you compete.

This topic came from sitting down with my friend Dr. Ray Sue @drraysue BJJ black belt, chiropractor, over 20 yrs experience working with injured athletes from every sport.

What an incredible challenge and experience! 🌟Huge thanks to my husband @rlh253 for the encouragement, taking over morning routines with Oliver so I can go to the gym, and endless support. ❤️💙Thanks to the awesome @f45_training_redmond coaches and members for encouraging me to do hard things and @trainathleticform for the drop in Hyrox workouts! 2025 has been transformative and there’s been so much support, kind words, and motivation! 📣Lastly, such an awesome experience to race next to @drraysue - amazing partnership and such an inspiration. "I am grateful"

A few weeks ago, I achieved my black belt, and I just couldn't have done it without the support and guidance from my incredible training partners and all my dedicated instructors starting @mkgseattle where I started this journey. Andy and Tammy created something very special. I remember taking a class with @the_rockstar_chef and he was so good but also had fun, cracking jokes etc. When I started to teach, I honestly copied his teaching style, and I might not have stuck it out if it wasn't for Josh so Thank You. Then Tammy and Andy gave me an opportunity to teach Jiu Jitsu and other arts, the culture and group of folks that trained were simply amazing people and once again might have quit if it wasn't for Dennis, Jane, Jody, Lucas, Justin, Irene, DRay, Ian, Voltaire,Vincent, Melvin and countless others.. THANK YOU, there were times I was going through some stuff personally and you made it easier.

To my NWJJA crew and my Canadian BJJ brothers and Sisters up North, Thank you for pushing me to be my best, for the countless hours of practice, and for the camaraderie. Your support and encouragement have been vital in this journey, and I am deeply grateful for each and every one of you. Especially to my long-time training partner @drraysue we have been training side by side for close to 15 years. @justn.jitsu and @enricodisalvo1 by training with them have significantly upped my BJJ game. Thank You.

Last but not least to @nwjja Brian, your wisdom and friendship have been instrumental in my growth. Thank you for always believing in me, for challenging me, and for imparting not just the skills, but the values that come with being a black belt. I am truly blessed, honored and quite honestly very lucky to have trained under your guidance.

I am proud to share this moment with you all. Here's to many more achievements and continued growth together!!!
