The total solar eclipse and my hair 😂 But seriously this is a big one and in the true spirit of a Pisces I follow these things and right now I need to shed the baggage, send gratitude and create space for powerful transformation. @coppercloverchs im a ride or die for life ❤️❤️❤️ @_emily_hightower_ and @laura your profile is not coming up so I’m assuming that’s a sign I shouldn’t tag you to 156k people. 😂, I am eternally grateful for the light you have poured into me at so many moments of darkness. You are my emotional eclipse spirit guides. Feel free to use that in your professional taglines in case someone’s looking for that title. This is a long ass video. Most of my followers will never watch the whole video and I get that. But it’s not about you all, it’s about me. It’s about me feeling more comfortable showing up authentically on here than I ever have and promising to do that more often, for ME. It’s for my son and it is also for my very amazing coparent @drstclairdpt who has stepped up in all the ways and is allowing me to be me despite the circumstances we have both endured. Our family is a representation of conquering the hardest of realities and coming out on the other side and 3 unique and special humans who will love each other beyond eternity regardless of the setbacks, the hard times, the mistakes, the trauma. We are proof of the time for healing and the time for shining. May we all come to the other side as brighter lights to everyone we meet, flashlights that illuminate the tiny spaces of darkness, and phosphorescence that is a gentle reminder of resilience when the waves start to come. For everyone tagged and to all of my friends and loved ones who have supported us all on this journey, and support my hair 😂, I love you all so much! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Things all programs should consist of for general health, injury reduction, & athleticism And if you say - “I don’t need this, I’m not an athlete anymore” or “I’m not trying to train for anything”, it doesn’t matter. These are all components of a good program to keep you healthy & be able to live your best life Strength training- I don’t even think I need to elaborate but I will. Strength is so good for general health, bone density, body composition, and so many other hormonal reasons. Lift heavy & be strong. Power declines rapidly as we age so keeping some component for general athleticism is good and plyos are good for bone and tendon health Cardio. I know not everyone loves it but you need it. [this doesn’t always mean running- it means getting your heart rate up] Your heart needs it. You don’t need to do it everyday but you need it in your programming weekly. Just embrace the suck and do it. Are your workouts lacking these things? What a busy and absolutely wonderful day. There was so much going on- I couldn’t keep up with the pictures! At one point, I looked up, and the Easter Bunny was walking to the flower field!!! Achilles Tendinitis Rehab⁣ —⁣ ⁣ Here is an exercise I’ve been using with a future D1 track/cross country athlete dealing with nagging Achilles tendinitis. She struggles with intrinsic foot strength & overall foot/ankle strength & stability ⁣⁣ Her treatment has been focused around strengthening the calf as a whole [gastroc, soleus, & post tib]. 𝐇𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛⁣⁣ — ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Here are a glimpse into some of the exercises I have been doing for a chronic mid muscle belly hamstring issue I have been feeling for the last few weeks. After ignoring it for a while hoping it would get better, I decided to start doing rehab. [because complaining to @drewdudek.dpt wasn’t helpful] I love these with my athletes as well. 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐭 𝐏𝐚𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛⁣ — ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Out of the boot, now what? Once this athlete was out of her boot we focused her rehab on a gradual progression of exercises for foot strength, proprioception, general lower body strengthening, & force through the foot. ⁣ ⁣ All of these things help to expose the foot to loads to improve strength and it’s resilience to help her return to the soccer field⚽️ ⁣ [We have to respect the injury and healing times which has a lot to do with how she responds to her sessions: muscle soreness, achey-ness, pain, etc after sessions]⁣ ⁣ In this exercise, the focus is foot strength and stability.
