SUCCESS LEAVES CLUES: OCTOBER EDITION ✨

ROOMS MATTER!

Ever since I was a teenager, I've understood the importance of being in the right rooms. And I'm not just talking about professional rooms. I'm talking about the IT rooms. The rooms everybody wanted to be in, but not everybody had access to.

Some rooms were for fun, some for leisure, and others were filled with people who had influence and connections. Even back then, I understood something: WHO you're in the room with matters just as much as WHY you're in the room.

As I've gotten older, that lesson has become even more valuable.

Your environment can either expose you to possibilities or keep you comfortable with limitations.

Sometimes you're one conversation away from an opportunity, one introduction away from a breakthrough, or one relationship away from seeing life differently.

But here's something I want somebody reading this to understand.

STOP DISQUALIFYING YOURSELF FROM ROOMS YOU HAVEN'T EVEN ATTEMPTED TO ENTER!

You don't have to be the wealthiest, the most educated, the most connected, or the most accomplished person in the room. Sometimes you just need the courage to SHOW UP!

And let's talk about those familiar rooms. The ones where everybody knows you, everybody is comfortable with you, but nobody is challenging you to grow.

Sometimes the room isn't too small. You've simply outgrown it.

And that's okay! Every room isn't meant to go with you into your next season.

I'm honored to be among the beautiful, accomplished, and inspiring women of the inaugural class of 50 Women to KNOW in New Jersey! 💕 Being in a room surrounded by women who are leading, building, breaking barriers, and making an impact reminds me why positioning yourself matters.

But this message isn't just about the room I'm in. It's about the room YOU need to stop talking yourself out of entering.

That networking event you've been hesitant to attend. That opportunity you think you're not qualified for. That introduction you're afraid to make. That space where you feel like you don't belong.

GO ANYWAY!

You never know what conversation, connection, or opportunity is waiting on the other side of your comfort zone.

Being recognized among women who are building businesses, leading organizations, creating opportunities, and making an impact across New Jersey connects so deeply to who I am and the work I continue to do.

And as we move through Q4, let’s do business. Let’s collaborate. Let’s CONNECT.

✨ Preeminence Professional Consulting Agency— Curriculum development, professional development, workforce training, program audits, and strategic consulting.

✨ No Rest Until Success Foundation — Empowering youth and young adults through literacy, real-world skills, mentorship, scholarships, life-after-graduation preparation, leadership development, and community empowerment.

✨ Signature Doc Notary & Professional Services — Notary, apostille, professional document, and wedding officiant services.

I don’t think people always realize what it means to be given an opportunity you never imagined yourself being in.

To have women see potential in you before you fully see it in yourself. To believe you can do something even when you’re still questioning whether you can. To push you, encourage you, teach you, and give you room to grow without judging you for what you don’t know yet.

That has been one of the greatest gifts Black Sports Moms has given me.

You didn’t expect me to walk in knowing everything. You saw what I was good at. You saw where I could grow. And you trusted me enough to give me opportunities to learn, lead, create, and become better.

To the founders, the advisory board, the chapter leads, and every woman in this organization who has poured into me, encouraged me, answered a question, shared some knowledge, trusted me with something important, or simply reminded me, Kendra, you can do this, thank you.

And especially to the women I’ve had the opportunity to connect with personally, please know that you have made a difference in my life.

There is something powerful about being surrounded by women who don’t compete with your growth, but contribute to it.

I came into Black Sports Moms because I’m a sports mom.

But somewhere along the way, I found a village. I found a tribe. And I found parts of myself that I didn’t even know were waiting to be developed.

Thank you for seeing me.
Thank you for trusting me.
Thank you for pushing me.
And thank you for giving me room to grow into the woman and leader you already believed I could be.

Forever grateful for my Black Sports Moms village. 🩷🩶

Back to where it all started. When your blessings stretch you thin, family stepping up matters. @_mojmcclain and @drsyreetamcclain can’t be three places at once one kid kicks off at noon for @ohiostatefb, another at 3:30 for @vol_football, and a third needs to be at @cusefootball by 9am for a recruiting visit, same day. Say less. Road trip it is. #theshowmustgoon #blessedandhighlyfavored

It has been an honor to be a part of BSM board. I’m grateful for the opportunity to learn, grow, and become better educated on how to position our families and support our young athletes for success! We had brunch, followed by a fun visit to Kendra Scott. Thank you to everyone who made this experience so memorable!
