POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Last year, @l.flores.mx and myself @drumce11 carved out a significant amount of time to contribute music under our project name @beliefdefect to an upcoming FPS game set in a cyberpunk dystopian future.

It was an honor to collaborate with @emptyvesselplay on this project. It’s been an inspiring and creatively challenging platform to produce for. Their team is an incredible collective of game designers pushing boundaries and breaking new ground in the world of first person shooter games.

We couldn’t be more proud to part of it and contribute the audio to set the mood.

The game will be releasing soon on @steamgamingofficial , with consoles releases to follow. Looking forward to sharing more very soon.

COMING SOON!

@silentservant77 will always be the epitome and definition of artistic integrity—no fluff, no compromise, pouring his heart into every medium he touched. Complete and unwavering conviction defined everything he committed himself to, a man of true vision both audibly and visually. He remained untainted by the outside noise and pressure that an industry focused on monetary gain could impose on an artist. He was a beloved friend, a profound mentor, and undoubtedly the biggest inspiration to all of us in our local community.

Very few people can truly understand the artistic camaraderie we, once a small circle of Techno artists in the early development of a fringe Los Angeles electronic music scene, shared. Decades ago, at a time when there was no space for our music to be heard or understood,Juan was a driving force that reassured us all that, regardless of the landscape we lived in, we had a voice. Los Angeles is often perceived as a vapid, superficial wasteland of surface-level output in the artistic sector. But, as Juan himself once quoted ”The brighter the lights, the darker the shadows,” we steered clear of the bright Hollywood lights, and we paved our way in those dark shadows. We struggled and pushed through walls to have our voices heard. Juan was a beacon of light, constantly recalibrating our perspectives on what was most important. He raised the bar with each output, making us all better by continuing to break boundaries in everything he did, and we stood in complete awe.

While many share condolences for the loss of Silent Servant, it’s crucial to share some sincere words for Simone. She was a beautiful soul and an amazing artist with the same unshakable poise and integrity.Their collaborations together were profound, rooted in genuine love for creating together. She had an incredible eye for art and an equally impressive ear for music. Thank you, both, for being there for me always. I love you both immensely. I currently do not possess the words adequate enough to express how much I will miss the both of you. I’m completely and utterly heart broken and this one will need time to mend. Our LA scene has lost a true icon.

Back in 2009 when we hosted Chris Liebing for the very first time… only a few minutes before he got on the the decks the Fire marshal came storming into the building to shut us down.

Within an hour we had torn down the whole sound system, tossed it into the back of a truck, found a new dirty warehouse, set up everything and updated our info lines with a new address.

Shortly after, waves of people looking for the new venue came pouring in and set up the night to be one of the most memorable INTERFACE parties of all time in L.A

It’s good reminder of how fragile the underground scene can be. A big tip of the hat to everyone in LA who always have to facedown the barrel of this reality anytime a show is put together. Cherish the moments we have now, because nothing is forever.

Although I probably don’t have to remind everyone, we celebrate 20 years of pushing techno in LA 11/26.

with our humble beginnings as a grass roots movement trying to build a techno scene where it didn’t exist to everything that we have accomplished since, this will Be a big night for us and I would be honored of you would all
join us.

Much love and big big thank you to everyone who came out to our very first OPTICS night in LA. It’s tuff doing a Thursday night in LA but everyone’s support was overwhelming. Felt really good to be back in our hometown and sharing the dancefloor in an intimate space again. We will continue through the rest of the summer to have these sessions as a chance for us to give back to the community by supporting our local scene here in LA.

Our second session will be July 15th but this time with a an artist I’ve always heald in highest regards ‘SILENT SERVANT’. He will be executing an opening to close set so that we all get to soak in diversity of his styles. We are offering super discounted presales now while they last. Come out again and have a proper hang with us all.

“ OnAugust 18th, 2017 we had the opportunity to premier our album along with the first public performance as Belief Defect from within the entrails of the iconic Kraftwerk building which, among other things, serves as the church of Atonal yearly.

Given the coincidences of multiple extraordinary circumstances that aligned under the exceptional commitment Atonal has with their audience, we planned a show specifically for the occasion, the stage, the technical freedom and resources offered by the festival to annex @oktaform and his skill set to the endeavor.
The visual counterpart to the album developed with the same instinctual impulse the music did: recurring to found footage evidencing the general despair emanating from all media juxtaposed with over stylized precision graphics as counterbalance, we aimed to build the experiential incarnation of the album and its narrative threads.

This is such attempt...”
