Good job @drumlanguage !

This one is Sonata No. 13 in E-flat Major, Op. 27 No. 1 by Beethoven. And this is performed on piano by Glenn Gould.

There’s so much cool stuff happening in the piece, and it makes you think a lot differently as a drummer when you try to orchestrate drums to classical piano.

Glenn Gould’s pauses and articulations are different and he kind of teaches you new things when you play other styles of music on the kit.

This was part of the challenge at @cdsdrumming, and I had a great time working on it.

Three variations off a single drag tap today—gotta work the back of the bag too. 🔄
Checking singles, bumps, and the phantom punch with the elbow. Still building on the @speedbagthrasher lessons. Getting there! 💥🥊

Spent serious time isolating five-note groupings to nail this 3:2 clave salsa pattern. I raised the platform by a couple of inches today. The adjustment forces my shoulders to stay up. Even though I practice linking with horizontal movements, I’m still fishhooking too much. Progress takes time, but the rhythm is there.

60 BPM today, focusing on the technical foundations studied so far. I integrated a few patterns from *Ted Reed’s Syncopation* to test the rhythm, and the rebound control is finally starting to click. 🥊🥁
