📈🧠| Earning Independence - One Groove at a Time | 🎶🥁

Been working on this pattern today and honestly this one pushed me a bit 🧠🔥

At first it felt like my brain was tying itself in knots, but I broke it down into smaller sticking chunks with the notation and slowly pieced it back together, the same way I’ve been approaching everything lately!

It took me a couple of hours to get it down, which is longer than most things I’ve been learning recently, but I actually see that as a good sign. It means I’m pushing into new territory and not just repeating what I already know.

It’s a linear pattern with the hands and kick all interwoven, and the way the sticking moves across the kit creates these shifting accents that almost feel like a polyrhythm, even though it’s all sitting in the same grid. That’s definitely what was frying my brain at first.

I’m not quite up to full tempo yet, but it’s starting to feel like something now instead of just being mechanical, and that’s always the turning point.

Loads to refine still, but I’m proud of this one. This is what progress actually looks like for me right now, a bit messy, a bit frustrating, but slowly locking in!

🔥 Proudly rocking 5A Nylon Tip Sticks from @CollisionDrumsticks
💪 Perfect balance, durability, and precision for every beat.

Fort de plusieurs années d’expérience dans l’enseignement, Irving a su repenser la manière d’aborder certains concepts techniques en développant un système pédagogique basé sur un code couleur, diffusé notamment sur son compte Instagram.
