CW: emosh post

1 year ago today July 15th 2023 I played my very first gig with Rachael, Fergal and Sam and a year on from that gig I just want to thank you guys for asking me to join the band and giving me a new avenue for creativity and a purpose for my drumming.

Rachael, Thank you for welcoming me into this band so nicely and after just 2 weeks of knowing me asking me to play a gig with you guys (and during that gig queuing me in with little kicks) I genuinely feel as though it was a very necessary change I needed to my life and I’m forever grateful for that. Additionally thank you for being one of the loveliest people I know and for putting up with whatever it is I’m yapping about at any point. Also sorry for being so chronically online I’ll try do better.

Fergal, thank you for writing some of my favourite songs like instincts, soldier boys and help you, I love that drum solo with all my heart it’s a highlight of every gig for me. Also thank you for pushing me to be a better drummer and musician generally I’m always in awe of your playing and I’m so sorry for rushing all the time i just get excited. Also thank you for being a great friend and being there for me when I have too many ciders at the bridge on it’s very sweet of you

And finally Sam, my favourite bassist and one of the best friends I could ever ask for, if it wasn’t for you I wouldn’t even be in this band and I don’t think I’ll ever be able to thank you enough for that. You will never cease to entertain me with the way you can make me laugh over the most stupid things whether it’s in practice, hanging about or actually on stage. I’m so grateful to have you as one of my closest friends and to also get to play in this band with you, luv u always n forever.

Also thank you to everyone who has come along to one of our gigs either intentionally or just by coincidence over the past year your support and presence is so appreciated and keeps me hitting those drums harder and better each gig.
See you at the next one!
