This is your reminder to support your local businesses! When I first started engraving, I really wanted to get better at working on perfume bottles but only had a few in my personal collection. On a whim, I ended up reaching out to my favorite local niche perfume boutique, The Drydown, and they were incredibly excited to share some of their empties. The team there is so sweet, so I took the liberty of practicing with some of their names!

NEW STOCKIST ALERT 🐚

Mekeni is now at THE DRYDOWN!

We’re so excited to bring our Pamilya Collection to Carlsbad, California, and partner with The Drydown, a space dedicated to independent and niche fragrance houses.

Our little Filipino fragrance house is finding its way into more spaces, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

Come experience Mekeni in person. 🤍

Quiet perfume, closer to you. Carlsbad.

A few blocks from the coast, @drydownboutique brings many excellent niche fragrance houses together on Grand Avenue - and we’re delighted that KIDA KYO is among them.

If you’re in Southern California, stop by, explore and spend a little time with our fragrances on skin.

Last time I was at @The Drydown I picked up a sample of OG by June Thirtieth and today I wear tested it. It has a very bright opening, doesn’t smell particularly green though. I don’t have much exposure to rhubarb scents and have heard mixed reviews about them, but I don’t get bitter or sharp. I think it’s bright and pretty, but I dont feel like it lasted very well. I’ll continue to wear my sample but I don’t think I would upgrade 💚 @Rowan_The Magpie Librarian #junethirtiethperfume #fragrance #perfume #orangecounty #sampleseptember

Malibu. Sandy beaches, golden hour, ocean air. All true. But what does Malibu smell like?

What I wanted to capture was how Malibu smells on the drive through the hills and canyons: dry wood, coastal sage and brush warmed by the sun, with star jasmine planted throughout the coastal landscape, lightly perfuming the air.

That contrast shaped the fragrance. Dry woods come first. As it settles, star jasmine softens them without taking over. When I wear it, I feel the way I do after that drive: calm, relaxed and recharged.

It’s no wonder it was our best selling fragrance this week - by men and women.

A little Noir x The Dry Down moment.🖤

We stopped by our neighbor, The Dry Down, and got to experience their niche fragrance collection firsthand. If you’re a Carlsbad local, this is definitely one to add to your list.

They’re celebrating 1 year on November 14th with giveaways, special surprises, and more. If you’re available, go show our neighbors some love and check them out!

COCO’s NEW CRUSH! Got to meet @pretty_perfume (her TikTok handle) recently at @drydownboutique in #sandiego , and what can I say…We are #fragrance twins! The way she perceives @vandangfragrances is exactly the way I designed them AND the way I describe them! I mean, VERBATIM! We are channeling each other, tapping into the same #perfume zeitgeist ! I don’t know what’s happening here, but please listen to this woman talk about Veldt and Night Harvest! She is spot-on! 🥰 #cosmic forces are at work! Thank you @corrin.rababy (her IG handle)! #beinthenow 💜 vandangfragrances.com ✨

Where do you go when you close your eyes?

Maybe it’s out east, where plans are loosely made and friends stop by. The hillside above Antibes, fragrant with herbs. A drive along PCH and through the canyon. Or South Beach, where the days are warm and the nights are electric.

À L’EST. ANTIBES. MALIBU. PLAGE SUD.

Four coastal-inspired fragrances created from places with a feeling all their own. Wear them anytime, anywhere, in any season. The choice is yours. Always.

One of the best things about living in San Diego is that I don’t have to travel during the summer. I like to say I live in vacation.

When I do get away, I might stay close to home and drive up to Malibu, travel back East, head to Miami or go as far as the South of France. Each place has its own feeling and its own smell, no matter what time of year I am there.

Those places became the inspiration for the Coastal Collection. Four fragrances and four very different interpretations.
