During this past week, our SAAC Community Service and Marketing Chair, Darius Satterfield (@dsatt.7 ) and Volleyball Representative, Portia Strasburg (@portia.renee_ ), had the opportunity to attend the 2024 CIAA Student-Athlete Empowerment Symposium. We had the opportunity to connect with people in various positions in the business world. We had speakers talk about Personal Branding, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Financial Literacy, and Leadership. We had the opportunity to serve this community via Shoe Donations. We used our free time to cheer on both ECSU Men's and Women's Basketball Teams during the CIAA Basketball Tournment! Congrats on a great season, Vikings! We will be forever grateful for the invitation this week!

Greetings ECSU Family and Friends 💙,

“If a mountain was smooth, you would not be able to climb it.Where there is no stuggle, there is no strength.”

It is with my deepest gratitude that I anounce the end of my reign as Mister Sophomore for the 2023-2024 academic year. First, I want to thank God for giving me the strength and peace of mind to get through another academic year! Thank you to the Class of 2026 for allowing me to represent you all! I want to give a huge thank you to Janiah Beach, who served as Miss Sophomore. I want to thank Jordan Thornton, the 89th Miss ECSU, and Jared Bell, the 23rd Mister ECSU, for allowing me to serve on you all’s court! It has been a joy to see you share your light on this community! Your outreach will be everlasting! Lastly, I want to thank Mr. Walls and Ms. Vaughn for the guidance and the laughs throughout this entire process.

To my successor, Mister Junior Elect, take every moment in. Enjoy the smallest of things because the time will fly by. Trust and Praise God through it all even when it seems to turn bad!

Being a part of this Royal Court has been wonderful! It may not have been ideal as I missed a lot of the events and walks due to other engagements, but every single moment was filled with nothing but joy! It got me out of my shell, taught me how to manage time, how to be present in the moment, and it gave me close friends for life!

Thank you to all who have supported me through this journey!
