Detlef Schrempf was the first European All-Star and the first German to ever make an NBA Finals appearance 🇩🇪

As a FIBA Hall of Famer, the Sonics legend has the credentials to backup his perspective here. With international players now in the MVP conversation perennially and more presence on rosters than ever before it’s without question that Detlef’s impact on the game is felt today.

Helping adults with developmental disabilities be the “Kings of their own castle” 👑 — and live more independent, connected lives — on a LEGENDARY night for @communityhomes Community Homes!!! 🏠🎉

What a meaningful night celebrating the residents, families, caregivers, and supporters who make Community Homes such an extraordinary community!👏

This year, we heard directly from residents about what having a home of their own means to them — and celebrated two homes that will provide greater stability, independence, and community for eight residents. 🙌

As the parent of a child with developmental disabilities, tt was such an honor to once again serve as auctioneer, this year teaming up with former Seattle Mariners pitcher and our fantastic MC Bill Krueger! ⚾️🎤

A HUGE thank you to Executive Director Marci Muhlestein, Brigette Quichocho, Lisa Marshall, and the entire Community Homes staff, caregivers, and volunteers for the incredible work you do every day!👊

And thank you to the dedicated Community Homes board — Marikay Cuthill, Jason Thonssen, Rob Sonderman, Rachel Bain, Marc Therrien, and Brian Evison — for your commitment to this mission.

Props to Laura Drazdys, Gazala Uradnik, Gabrielle Litsas Martin, and the GFS Events team for helping create such a memorable night! 🤩

Most of all, THANK YOU to the generous donors and supporters who showed up and stepped up! YOUR support helps Community Homes open more doors and create places where adults with developmental disabilities can experience stability, independence, connection, and a true sense of belonging!!!🙏

Detlef Schrempf. Shawn Kemp. Gus Williams. How are these guys not in the hall of fame? 🤨

According to our guest this week (Detlef himself) and our host Danny Ball, the Sonics organization leaving town had a big hand in these legendary names being left off ballots.

Our conversation with Seattle hoops icon Detlef Schrempf was a great conversion of past, present and future. Full episode out now.

Glue guys are an crucial part of any successful team 🤝

On our latest episode, Sonics legend Detlef Schrempf talked about how Steve Scheffler was an amazing practice player and could’ve put up 10 points, 6 boards on 5 shots in 20 minutes*. Detlef was certain that if Scheffler got more time he would’ve been solid.

*For reference, that stat combo (or better on same shots and minutes) was only recorded 8 times in the ‘95-‘96 NBA season.

Shawn. And then Gary. And now Detlef.

The latest episode with the third member from the trio Sonics that made the 1995 All-Star team and the 1996 Finals is out now. Detlef talked about the past, present and future of Seattle hoops and made some amazing points around the plan for the team between the (hopeful) announcement and first game.
