32.
An age I once never even dreamed of reaching…

It’s also about to be my 10 year breast cancerversary - which seems so WILD.
Sometimes it feels like it all happened just yesterday.

At one point, I couldn’t see much of a future for myself. I kept getting diagnosed with cancer (three times, to be exact), and it felt like no matter how many steps forward I tried to take, I kept getting pulled back.

There were times when I felt like there was no point in even trying.

I’m grateful I didn’t stay in that low place.

And now, I can’t even begin to express how grateful I am to be alive. To be living a life full of love, adventure, community, and passion.

This year started out rough. A lot of pain that finally led to me getting a hysterectomy. But it also led to so much healing. Internally, mentally, physically.

It forced me to slow down. To truly slow down.

And in so many unexpected ways, that’s been such a gift.

I’m currently on a 🍄 retreat with fellow survivors and thrivers, and I’ll share more about that later…

But here I am!
Alive, and grateful to be here

Thank you for witnessing me
and being in community with me
✨

Here are a few highlights from the last few months 🫶🏼

Somewhere in Japan. 🌱

Donnie and I were hiking on an island when we stumbled upon someone playing the most beautiful instrument. We stayed for a while, listening, and I quietly took a few photos as she played.

When she finished, I walked over, told her how beautiful it was, and asked for her email so I could send them to her.

Grateful for moments like this 🌱

TRUST THE MACHINE 🤖

wanna shout out the collaborators who helped shape the world for this song ~

first and foremost #connorschultze who played bass, produced, mixed and mastered. needless to say he’s a certified mastermind and I love where this song sits in the evolution of all the music we’ve made together. AND to top it off this video was made just us - he filmed + edited the video and made the mask!!! that dang mask took daysssss.

@dspax with the synth pad magic ✨ he also built the microphone that all my vocals were recorded on.

we brought this song to @swattykins when we knew it was close to being finished but had yet to find the the dystopian // surreal synth sounds that make you feel like the track is fighting for control of the song. he absolutely nailed it!!

@thebeetmaker is one of my favorite drummers and is a huge reason that this song feels so good

stay moist is TWO YEARS OLD TODAY💧
this record taught me so much and im eternally grateful for all the people it connected me to, all the hearts it reached, and all the stages, barbershops & sex shops it led me to. ‘stay moist’ came from feeling super disregulated in my body and snapping snotty selfies of myself with the caption ‘stay moist’ which ultimately became my mantra for how to find regulation and equanimity in this body and world. A 5 song EP, each track so sonically different from the next, shamelessly amplifying a part-self that otherwise held so much shame. I hope this record inspires you to talk to your own wise and gnarly part-selves and carve out time and space to feel and move thru the whole gamut.

give it a spin today, twist it, bop it & share it with a friend en route to a body of water, & well, stay moist ~

to be continued oh so soon,
somethin good’s comin’

LOVE,
beccs

eternal thanks to @godfreyyy for co-prod w/such deep listening n care @youdontknowjack__ for mixing, voc prod & beyond @thebiggmac for all the love n co-conspiring & every single collaborator behind every song, sound n visual.

"Your anger an all time high
Any misstep and I'm the bad guy
Told a story, a page from my memoir
And it traveled right through your ears into an empty space
I wish that I had it figured it out
I know I'll be trying to remind
Myself of the ways I'm important
Cuz lying to myself is just something I won't do" 🔥

@jryan422 's beautiful song 'Heated' that I absolutely loved the first time I heard it last year. Check it out on her new album, released earlier this month. The honest, vulnerable lyrics resonate with so many. ❤️‍🔥 #jillryan #coversong #livemusic #liveperformance #vocals

@jryan422 's dreamy cover of 'Satan' (by @andyshauf ) that I could not stop listening to the first time I heard it last year. Jill's ethereal vocals laced with reverb was just arrestingly beautiful. 😭❤️‍🔥 #jillryan #coversong #livemusic #liveperformance #vocals

Kamikōchi hike 🏔️

We were prepared for a run-in with a bear… not monkeys 🐒

Came across a whole family and just stood there observing them for a bit…such a cool moment
