This is how I like to set up my Belt squat to get the most out of it and target both quads and glutes as well as adductors!

Perfect squat selection specifically for those of us who don’t want to stimulate the upper body by putting heavy load on our back.

You can also shift the emphasis of the belt squat depending on your goal - by adjusting your foot placement, torso angle and hip position, you can make it more quad- or glute-biased staying more upright with more knee flexion for the quads, or using more of a hip hinge for more glute emphasis.

Don’t just follow an exercise - understand how to make it work for your goal.

Save this for your next lower-body session, and follow for more training tips, biomechanics & coaching advice. 🔥

If you want to learn how to train with more intention, DM me “COACHING.”

Unilateral RDLs!
My all time favourite Glute finisher! 🍑🔥

Why unilateral? Working one side at a time helps expose strength imbalances while challenging the glute to stabilize the pelvis throughout the movement.

To keep it glute-focused:
→ Soft bend in the working knee
→ Hip hinge - don’t squat down
→ Keep your hips square to the floor and your pelvis
→ Control the eccentric and the concentric phase

You don’t need heavy weight here. At the end of the session, execution > load.

Try 2–3 sets × 10–15 reps each side as your next glute finisher. 🔥

Save this for your next glute day and follow for more tips🍑

It’s not supposed to be comfortable.
There’s a point where your body wants to stop, your mind starts negotiating, and everything in you is looking for an easier way out. That’s the moment that actually matters.
Not when it feels good, but when it doesn’t.

The discomfort? That’s where you grow and where you figure out who you really are.
It’s easy to show up when you’re motivated. It’s easy when you feel good.
But what about the days you don’t? What about when you’re tired, sore, doubting yourselt, or just not feeling it at all?
That’s when you have to remember your why - why you started, who you’re becoming, what you told yourself you wouldn’t quit on…
You don’t need everything to feel perfect. You just need to keep going. Slow down if you have to, take a breath, but don’t back out just because it got uncomfortable.

TOUGHEN UP AND KEEP SHOWING UP!
That’s how you build something real.

To transform your body you have to transform your mind first and act like the person who has what you want acts.
Stop changing perfection and start chasing consistency.

Who doesn’t love split squats?

I don’t know about you, but split squats are a staple in my training routine.
A very complex exercise that most don’t perform correctly.

Copying your favourite athlete’s split squat technique, execution or even set up, even if it’s perfect for them, doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s the right one for YOU.

Your limb lengths change joint angles and where force is distributed. Forcing everyone into the same stance or torso angle ignores biomechanics — and often leads to discomfort or stalled progress.

The goal isn’t matching someone else’s form.
It’s finding your strongest, most repeatable position.

If split squats never felt right, this is probably why.
Same movement.
Different structure.
Different execution.

If this post made something click for you, send me a DM and let’s get to work!

Walk to the rear of the stage 👠✨

My top 3 cues:

-Hips up & anteriorly tilted.
-Small, slow and consistent steps.
-Direct with the hips, lead with the knees.
