Join the @limitednetwork crew and Black Nation founder @djjaydenham to open up IT’s weekend at Tangent Thursday night, with live hardware sets and raw wax spinning until 3AM, hitting as true as it gets to the essence of Midwest techno. The future sound meets the electro-specialists that paved their way. No illusions, no vapidity, no corners stagnated. All motion, all night.

Let’s look briefly at your evening’s itinerary:

Globally renowned and Kalamazoo-born Jay Denham will be throwing down the tracks that informed this next generation of underground cats.

Search Party featuring @1200watts, @baskasanball, @j_u_l_i_3__n and @allendennard313, will give us a proper dose of live musicianship, blurring the lines and reinventing the relationship between jazz and techno.

@famdet will be back at Tangent to screw our heads on backwards with his future forward live set.

Returning from Montreal, Detroit’s own @wetdo99 will join southeastern Michigan runaway, @dubslately, in their electro punk duo, Death by Sex Drive—a pair guaranteed to turn the lights out.

@b_r.od and @5tr8tch will make their way back to Detroit via L.A., each with a fresh perspective and a vast selection of hard-to-finds. Including but not limited to some of the most righteous dance music selections of all time.

After two years of working under the wing of “Mad” Mike Banks, I’m happy to share that Submerge Sessions Volume 1 will be available to the public on June 16, 2025 in CD and digital formats. 🫶🏽

I’m so grateful for the opportunity to learn from and be in community with Mike and @corneliusdetroit throughout the entirety of this project cycle through my entrusted role as project coordinator. From ideation, track selection, mixing, mastering, artist management, editing, publishing, art direction, and more- I can truly say that they lead me through all aspects of the independent music industry in a way that is not possible without steadfast mentorship, deep trust, and a comprehensive expertise in the field: all of which are powerful gifts to share. I’m forever grateful to be a part of the lasting legacy at 3000 in ways that I can’t put into words, but that I hope you can hear through our collective output of sound.

The music involved speaks to not only a new generation of Techno in Detroit, but also to a new method of intergenerational communication through sound, and to what is possible when the revolutionary values behind the political arms of Techno are practiced within a community. It also makes for really fucking good music.

Humbly and if you’re able, I would appreciate your support of the project when it releases in 10 short days through a listen, share, or purchase. I am so proud of each and everyone of these 15 artists that wrote the music, and of our innumerable administrative staff that contributed something to this project for Submerge. We hope that you enjoy what you hear. ❤️

Two weekends ago we had the pleasure of collaborating with @limitednetwork for our second event together, presenting Max Watts [ @1200watts ] & Sugar [ @sugarbeatfactory ] for their SF debuts.

Big up all who came with open minds and active feet, sharing the dance floor for the night.

Much love to @yerbabuena_estudio staff for having the system dialed, @karlalemonlime & @at.simon.gregory for lights, and the breadth of friends and loved ones who helped staff the bar and door for the night.

MUSIC FIRST, always.
