Today is a very special and nostalgic day in SF as we celebrate The @endupsf 50th Anniversary! 🎉 Back in the day, the undisputed San Francisco go-to after-hours was The EndUp. As the name implies, quite literally everyone in the city has ended up at this legendary staple at one point in their nightlife career. It has been the quintessential night-into-day playground for all walks of life, encouraging everyone to be themselves. This is the way it’s been since they opened their doors and is currently the world’s longest running discotheque. The EndUp was home for many of Listed’s celebrated PLAY parties, featuring artists like the early days of @bobmosesmusic @djleeburridge @adriatique @patrice_baumel @djthreeofc @cassyofficial @danny_howells78 +Dubtribe Sound System @therealcraigrichards @francoisknyc + so many more, as well as our Marathon Love Parade afterparties (with The EndUp even sponsoring our Listed float!). In recent years, we returned to The EndUp one of our biggest Listed Productions events, The Real Deal Party Feel. It’s safe to say that this venue played a pivotal role in our development and we are extraordinarily grateful for all of the amazing memories. Today they are celebrating the enormous accomplishment of 50 years with a FREE Union Square Takeover and of course EndUp afters with an excellent lineup. Check The @endupsf profile for details and hope to see you there! 🖤

WHO WANTS A GIGGLE? ⁣ Darlings, I remember a time in my life when the idea of being gentle let alone laugh at myself was not a practice I could embodied. At a very young age a hyper-critical and judgmental narrative of self was taught to me. ⁣ ⁣ That narrative stuck with me for most of my young adult life. It was through self-awareness, loving family & friends, devotion to my healing and spiritual practice I was able to unlearn this way of being. ⁣ ⁣ This morning as I was getting ready for my early AM workout with @katzcomics I put my sweatshirt on backwards in my sleepy haze. I laughed and kept it on to share the silliness with my friend. We had a good laugh about it as we sweated ourselves awake. ⁣ ⁣ I remember back in the day when I wouldn’t have been able to laugh at myself. Something as simple as putting my sweatshirt on backwards would have sent me into a self critique and judgmental spiral. ⁣ ⁣ While I still have my days of being way too hard on myself, practicing mindfulness has helped me notice the judgmental or disempowering thought, acknowledge it with grace rather than more judgement and firmly yet lovingly shepherd my attention back to love and acceptance for who I am. ⁣ ⁣ A woman who sometimes puts her sweatshirt on backwards. ⁣ ⁣ When was the last time you had a good laugh at your humanness? Share with me in the comments below. I would love to join you in a good giggle. Let's normalize being human together. ⁣ ⁣ Today's meditation affirmation: I choose to approach my day in softness with myself and others. ⁣ ⁣ Many blessings. ⁣ P.S. ***Im giving you my best duck face under that hood.

❤️👁❤️⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ “Between stimulus and response, there is space. In that space lies our freedom and our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our happiness.” - Viktor Frankl ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Some philosophies or concepts would refer to this active space as “the sacred pause”. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ In a few hours the spirit of Shabbat will make her grand entrance at sunset. Lighting candles, baking challah and reciting the Shabbos prayers in her honor has become weekly balm to my heart. ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I’ve been reflecting on the quote above a lot today as I prepared my home. Why is it so important to be in radical practice of “the sacred pause?”⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ I keep coming back to the same answer. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The collective healing of our world needs the power of your truth. In a world with constant comparison, triggers and inequalities igniting your nervous system and compulsions to react rather than respond, “the sacred pause” allows you to lift yourself out from underneath the received narratives of the world and respond to them from the depths of your being that are inherently good, true and compassionate. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ The ritual of Shabbat and the practice of “the sacred pause” in mindfulness are great rituals to learn from. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ They offer lessons of sacred rest and radical agency. These two ways of being when chosen can empower you to respond to life from the holiness of your humanity and not the impact of greed and hate attempting to absorb you. ⁣ ⁣ My darlings, it is this “sacred pause” that takes us from being overtaken by life to being it’s co-author. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ On this New Moon, as possibility dances it’s beauty in the cosmos, sacred rest blankets the Sabbath and our breath awaits to greet our attention, I wish for you to never lose sight of the sacred truth that not only ritual practice can bring you but that you already are. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ May the the power of loving-kindness, forgiveness and compassion be your compass today and all days. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ What ritual brings you closer to the home within? ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Shabbat Shalom. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Happy New Moon.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ May you be well. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ❤️⁣⁣ ❤️⁣⁣ ❤️

🌷🌷🌷⁣ Today in my Spirituality, Service and Social Change class, my students and I discussed resilience focusing on the same said chapter from @adriennemareebrown’s book “Emergent Strategy”. ⁣ ⁣ We weaved into the discussion the above poem as we explored our own muscles of resilience being activated through this very uncertain time. We shared the lessons being given to us as we decentralize our preferences to foster community care. ⁣ ⁣ The final thought of class was regarding where does our own faith traditions fit into the poem above and the practice of resilience. Is our faith the house, the guest or both? ⁣ ⁣ What are you learning about your self and your own resilience as we move through this pandemic? Are you honoring all guests? How is your faith tradition if you hold one supporting you? ⁣ ⁣ “Resilience is perhaps our most beautiful, miraculous trait” - @adriennemareebrown

One thing that is happening for sure is my virtual meetings are starting to get spicy. Bring your plant to work day...muy bueno! If you know me...then you know I was 30 minutes early and ready with a bio for each one. My darlings, we must practice touching some type of joy and connection everyday and then we must pass it on. @ch_n_ll_ - 1,2!!!

❤️❤️❤️ WHO YOU LOVIN UP ON TODAY?⁣ ⁣ Social distancing and working remotely may be the new norm for some. A normal response to this change is a dysregulated nervous system. If you are feeling fear, sadness, loneliness, confusion, anxiety and maybe even numbness...THIS IS TOTALLY NORMAL. ⁣ ⁣ As a community we GET TO support one another not bypassing these emotions/feelings as well as NOT FEEL ALONE IN THEM. The time is now to encourage each other’s self care. ⁣ ⁣ Let’s acknowledge what’s happening, set up systems of care and hold each other to it! Check on your people today. Ask someone how are they doing and how are they taking care of themselves during this time. Do me a favor and share some ideas of self care you are taking below! We can all learn from each other. ⁣ ⁣ You are not alone! Tonight I will be offering a virtual Shabbat at 7:30pm EST. DM for details. Tomorrow at 12pm EST I’ll jumping back into my Instalive to hold space, offer tips and tools to navigate the daily changes of our external world and offer a guided meditation! Join me! ⁣ ⁣ Mindfulness is a beautiful reminder that connection to Spirit, love, yourself and others is always available to you. ⁣ ⁣ Also, @lunaloveycarter thinks you’re pretty rad.
