Exhibition participant DARYA DUBTZOVA / BYLAIK Photographer · Moscow, Russia @dubtzova_darya DARYA DUBTZOVA / BYLAIK Photographer · Moscow, Russia @dubtzova_darya Darya Dubtzova was born in Zaraysk, Moscow Region, and currently lives and works in Moscow. She came to photography at the age of 37, during a difficult period in her life, when creativity became a way to navigate an inner crisis, reconnect with herself, and discover a new language for expressing emotion. Darya works under the creative name ByLaik, which is gradually developing into her own artistic brand. At the heart of her practice is a desire to find art in the ordinary and to give photography meaning beyond the visible image. She does not seek a single interpretation of her work; for Darya, if even one viewer recognizes or feels something personal within an image, the work has already achieved its purpose. Art photography and surrealism are particularly close to her visual language. Her images bring reality and imagination together, transforming everyday life into something cinematic and placing familiar emotions on the border between the real and the imagined. Darya’s works have been presented at five major exhibitions in Russia, as well as exhibition projects in Berlin and Paris. One of her artistic ambitions is to hold a solo exhibition outside Russia. Beyond photography, she dreams of creating a home that will become not only a place to live and create, but eventually a shelter for animals.
