30.

Today, I’m simply grateful.

Three decades of life.

Three decades of becoming.

And when I look back over the journey, I can see God’s hand in places I didn’t recognize it at the time.

Through every open door.
Every closed door.
Every victory.
Every disappointment.
Every season of waiting.
Every moment I had to start again.

God was there.

There are things I prayed for years ago that I’m living in today. And there are prayers I’m carrying today that I trust will make sense in their appointed time.

“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Turning 30 has me thinking differently about time.

Not from a place of fear or feeling behind, but from understanding just how valuable it is.

I don’t need to have everything figured out.

I just need enough light for the next step.

“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
Psalm 119:105

That scripture means more to me now.

Because God hasn’t always shown me the entire road.

Sometimes He gave me enough light to take one step.

Then another.

Then another.

And somehow, those steps brought me here.

At 30, I’m not asking God to make the road easy.

I’m asking for the wisdom to recognize where He’s leading me, the discipline to prepare for what I’ve prayed for, the courage to walk through the doors He opens, and the humility to remember Who opened them.

I’m walking into this decade more intentional.

More disciplined.

More present.

More protective of my time.

More appreciative of the people I love.

And more committed to becoming the man God created me to be.

There is still work to do.
People to impact.
Stories to tell.
Places to go.
Purpose to fulfill.

And if these first 30 years have taught me anything, it’s that I don’t need to know exactly how the story ends to trust the Author.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it.”
Philippians 1:6

Chapter 30.

I’m grateful for the man I’ve become.

I’m grateful for the man I’m becoming.

And above everything else…

I’m grateful God allowed me to see it.

Here’s to 30. 🥂

Congratulations 🎉I always tell my students: do the internships, explore every opportunity, and experience as many avenues as possible because you never know where the journey will lead. No matter what your major is, exposure to different industries and experiences can open doors you never imagined. A few weeks ago, I didn’t even make the Top 3.

Then a week before the finals, I got the call that someone dropped… and my name was next.

Fast forward to today, sitting on the Marissa Mitchell Show on FOX5 representing the Bulldog Pitch Competition.

That alone is a reminder that what’s meant for you will find you in God’s timing. Sometimes the setback isn’t rejection, it’s preparation.

Grateful to the EIC at Bowie State for believing in student entrepreneurs and giving us opportunities that truly change lives.

Never stop preparing. Never stop believing. Your moment can come when you least expect it. 🎥✨
