Ducati 450 R/T. The man in the sunglasses is the father of the Desmo, Fabio Taglioni. The guy in the overalls is test rider Franco Farne. I’ve never seen a green version of these bikes. They were built from 1971-1974 and were built specifically for the American motocross market. They had a Desmo drivetrain and weighed about 285 lbs wet. Only roughly 460 examples were built. Does anyone own one or has ever ridden one? With Ducati entering the motocross market soon, it’s cool to see what they built the last time they were in that space. #vintagehusqvarna #vintagehusky #vintagemaico #maico #vintagecz #cz #bultaco #tmracing #ossa #vintagektm #ktm #cagiva #husaberg #penton #puch #beta #vintagedirtbikes #vintagemotocross #vintagecrosscountry #vintageenduro #vintage #dirtbikes #motocross#vintagetrials #trials #enduro #supercross #motorcycles #mxlife #ducati

Motorcycle travel is my favorite way to travel. Motorcycle riding in general is great therapy especially when you live in the West Virginia hills!! Over the years I’ve learned how to operate and work on these bikes and it makes me a much more confident rider especially as I ride further and further away from home!!

1971 DUCATI 450 R/T DESMO. What are everyone thoughts on Ducati getting back into the motocross world in 2024? Do you think the new bike will have the desmodromic valve system? I love Ducati motorcycles, so I’m anxious to see what they do. It’ll be interesting to see Ducati, Triumph, and Beta on the starting line in the next couple years. 📸 @motocrossactionmag. #vintagehusqvarna #vintagehusky #vintagemaico #maico #vintagecz #cz #bultaco #tmracing #ossa #vintagektm #ktm #cagiva #husaberg #penton #puch #beta #vintagedirtbikes #vintagemotocross #vintagecrosscountry #vintageenduro #vintage #dirtbikes #motocross #vintagetrials #trials #enduro #supercross #motorcycles #mxlife #ducati

A few stills of the new Duc... Can't wait for here to get done with some TLC @m.d.performance_tuning (belts, fluids, etc.) and out for a proper track day.

Thanks again to Frank @evolution_motorcycles. Transaction was super smooth.. if ya haven't shopped there, hit Frank up. Super great guy!

Hopefully I'll be able to get ahold of @ducatiwinchester and get the dyno tune charts from when they did the engine build and ECU mapping.

Ducati Winchester // @ducatiwinchester & Duc Pond Motosports was born from a passion for racing and performance. Owners Donnie and Julia Unger opened the doors in December 2006.
How did Duc Pond get its start? Donnie Unger raced for 19 years, 14 of those on Ducati. After 13 Mid-Atlantic and South East Regional Titles and the 2001 Middle Weight Sportsman National Title, his career ended with a literally back breaking crash at VIR in October 2002. An electrical engineer by trade, his racing gave birth to a service business that got the attention of Ducati North America. The Ungers were offered a dealership so Duc Pond Racing became Duc Pond Motosports.
Where did Duc Pond get its name? On a rainy day at Summit Point Motorsports Park, the pits were flooded as usual. A fellow racer walked by and saw the 4 Ducati's lined up in the water and said "Look at all the Ducs in a Pond" It stuck.

Something in the works for next season on the track. It needs a TON of work but should be a good build not only for me to track but good for the business to show off too. #girtenautospecialties
