POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Tomorrow’s drop will include some hand processed fleece from Jamie - a Merino x English Leicester from South Australia.

Shorn in September, this fleece is fresh off the sheep’s back and into my scour bath. Here is a little snippet of the test spinning and carding that went into the harvest battling sets blended with @haunuiwool , yak down and a touch of sari silk🎃

The snaps shown are from some of the initial passes on the carder ♥️

I speak more about the inspiration behind these in my FleeceFolk Diary video this week.

🛍️ Shop update Wednesday 21st October 5PM Sydney time

Socktober has sunk its hooks into me. I'm knitting Ysolda's #deepshadowsocks for the first time, in handspun Suffolk/ Hampshire. I'm hoping to stress test these with farm work.

First FO of the month is a pair of socks, which is fitting given that it’s #socktober ! These were my travel project and the faux cables broke up the monotony of endless rounds of stockinette stitch. The pattern is available in both top down and toe up, which is great too. #ffsocktober2026

A set of socks on the needles for my daughter. I’m using the colour Blood Moon by @maximooyarns for the main colour and a black contrast for the rest. This colour way is sooooo cool #socktober2026 @duchessofsewssex this is my first set for this year. I did start it earlier though #socksofinstagram #sockknitter

Tester showcase!

I am always in awe and in love with the combos my testers pick for their sweaters and I wish I could steal them all for myself 😂

Came home from vacation to the best kind of package!!
The squishy kind!

@fleecefolkfibre does such an incredible job with her colors and this corridale/silk blend is so soft! 😍 and the package came with the sweetest handwritten note!

I think I’m going to combo spin the 3 together? 🤔 for another jaunty? But let me know if you other suggestions!

I need to clear my bobbins so I can start this project asap!

Go check out @duchessofsewssex and @fleecefolkfibre for great spinning content, humor, and beautiful hand dyed fiber!

A love letter to @duchessofsewssex 💌

My emotional support skein from the exceedingly talented dyer and spinner behind @fleecefolkfibre. Gotland x Corriedale for the shiniest, most bouncy yarn. I am endlessly inspired by my good friend and so proud of everything she is achieving with her new business 🥰

What I would buy from @fleecefolkfibre Corriedale drop if I was a spinner 🥰

(Probably should have logged out of Etsy, but that’s an old, cancelled card that you can see the last 4 digits of, so 🤷🏻‍♀️)

That’s a wrap on spinning for Tour de Fleece 2026. I’m happy I was able to achieve my goal of spinning every day (minus Bendigo Sheep show day). I thoroughly enjoyed spinning fibre dyed from Australian indi dyers most of who are super local to me. Looking forward to choosing patterns for this yarn and spending even more time with this fibre. #teamcatandsparrowtdf26
