These are the things that I hear / feel in my heart quite often when I am shaping. Heavenly conversations with my son and father keeping me strong…channeling the pure Aloha spirit from those two great men and myself into every board I make for you all to enjoy Gods creation.

While this is an artistic rendering , it captures the feeling I get perfectly.

What a weekend. We were in San Diego for The @boardroomshow, and what a success it was.

Seeing so much excitement around sustainable surfboard manufacturing, sugarcane cores, and a new way of designing and building boards is exactly why we do this.

We were humbled by the legends who stopped by our booth, and grateful for every conversation, old friends, new friends, and new connections we can’t wait to build with.

Thank you for your presence and your stoke.

Will forever be an original…
One of the greatest surfers of all time that influenced the greatest surfers of all time.
Period…
In the 70’s , Ben Aipa and Larry Bertlemann were the first magical combination of shaper and surfer, synonymous with the explosive birth of high performance surfing.
He pushed my dad to become a better shaper as Larry was always pushing the boundaries of how a board could perform..
I’m sad that Unko Larry has passed away…but what is most important is to remember and perpetuate is what he passed forward to generations of rippers…
His limitless thought process that
“Anything is Possible”.
Our prayers and Aloha go out to his Ohana.

Aloha Oe Unko Larry, you’ll always be Team Aipa and forever in our hearts and we will keep your memory alive with us.

When I was a teen, living in Sydney in the late 70’s, this guy was blowing minds with his radicsl style of surfing and we were all trying to emulate his style on our skateboards. Larry Bertlemann was the man. We all wanted to surf like him and Buttons. One day in 2009, Buttons called me and invited me to come down to Sunset and meet Larry. Of course I jumped at the chance and captured these classics of Larry and Buttons. Sadly, news just came through that we just lost Larry. I just wanted to recognise Larry and his major influence on surf groms all over the world, back in the 70’s. Like Buttons, Larry was the real deal. Rest in peace legend… 🪽🙏
