Little fall multi pitching up Yamnuska. Life in Colour 11c. Fantastic climb and excellent work developing this sure to be classic by the one and only @matt_laird_ and friends.

P1 10d: I led this, it was pretty cruisy 10d I honestly don't remember a lot about this pitch. The rock was alright.

P2 10b: Duncan took the lead. Kind of an interesting traverse that I think I did wrong haha.

P3 11b: My lead again. Pretty fun/thoughtful face climbing on crimps, we both had a nice little pump by the end of it.

P4 11c: Duncan led this, he cruised the crux with better footwork than myself. I found I had to crank for one move right off the belay with a cool crossing sequence. After that it was a mix of rests and some pumpy climbing.

P5 11b: I led this pitch and maaaan was it good. You climb this sick dihedral crack feature which had some cool movement. Matt said it was the whole reason he bolted this route and I see why. The top part has some super prickly techy climbing. Definitely my favorite pitch.

P6 11a: Duncan led. I genuinely don't remember anything about this one haha.

P7 11a: I led this, I just remember the chimney making me laugh and being techy weird but holds everywhere you wanted them. It was cool stepping out left from chimney and having some good exposure below your butt.

P8 5.8: Duncan ramble scampered up this runout but very easy 2 bolt pitch.

P9 11b: I led the final pitch and I primarily remember just being tired at this point haha.

Fun little walk off. Psyched for this day.

Last fall (2024), @duncangregson put the idea in my head to bundle up and try developing a new route through the winter—hoping to have something ready to climb when spring rolled around. In November 2024, we rapped down Yamnuska to check out a feature I’d had my eye on and see what else that section of the mountain might offer.
Development kicked off with many trips up and down the wall alongside various partners— @merrickmonte, @kurtmorrison, & @mabesdris . The warmer days often came with savage winds, and paired with the short daylight hours, progress was slow and eventually stalled in the spring. I left a few fixed lines in place over the summer and picked things back up in the fall as the climbing season wound down. @greasy.rhys joined me on the wall to sort out the essential crux moves (P4) and took on developing an entire pitch (P5).
After many more trips back this winter, the line was finished. I was also able to retrofit ‘Dreambed’ with @dcom_scott using leftover hardware, as the two lines now run parallel- Thanks @tabvar_climb & supporters!
Last weekend @jacob_farkas & I took advantage of the weather and went for a group up attempt. Funny enough, I fell on the crux pitch & didn’t bother to reclimb it, thinking we wouldn’t have enough daylight to finish the entire route anyways. A few hours later we topped out… So, we rapped down, I tied back in & sent the pitch.
Huge thanks to all the homies who helped make this happen. Psyched to wrap up another new line! Maybe not the most exciting media, but these are some clips from the wall over the past year.

Our favorite moments from the summer ⬇️

1 & 2. Swimming in the coldest water we’ve ever stepped foot in at Delta Lake

3 & 4. Making it to the cirque after a solid climb up Texas pass

5. Passing the fellow hiker mountain goat who used the hiker trail his way up

6. Hiked up to an epic view of Lake Louise with the cousins for Canada Day

7. Nightly walks up Echo Lake chalet while staying at the cabin

8. Silver lake flat at dusk

9. Hiking below the saddle as the sun started to rise over Mt. Timpanogos

10. Catching 2 fish back to back after believing there wasn’t a single one in that reservoir

Fun looking back at these last few months, they’ve been some good ones 🫶🏼
