Jake Hawkes

Jake mixes music, absurdist humour and performance art to create an unstoppably engaging act.

We are sad to announce that we have had to take the decision to postpone - Is This The End Festival - this Sunday 30th August.

Unfortunately thunderstorms and rain are a terrible combination with outdoor performers and electricity!!!

As we really don't want to kill anybody ( honest!) it just can't go ahead.

Keep posted for an updated date - when the next heatwave hits - we'll be back!!

Thank you to everyone who came to our outdoor park events this Summer - they were great, you were all amazing.

Keep safe and dry

If you build it, they will come!

Last night was our biggest and best open mic yet and it’s so pleasing to see this night grow into such a great and safe space for comedians, both new and experienced, to test their material.

We had someone making the their comedy debut and 2 other comedians performing for only their second time 🙌🏻

We had a full audience and 12 comedians and it was filled with laughs from start to finish.

Thanks to the audience for supporting live comedy, we couldn’t do without you!!

And a massive thank you to Golfo at Indigo for providing the venue and allowing the night to breathe and grow. Your hospitality is first class!

The next Bliss Comedy night is on 15 May and the next open mic is on 24 June.

Thanks to our acts Kevin O’Brien, Tom Owen, Friday, Amy Nic, John Boyd, Fil Milton, Ash Clark, Ryan Woods, Joe Fleetwood-Smith, Darren Hawes, Jake Hawkes and Nelle Keeler and our host Mary Cross

Good morning!

New episode out now 🎙️

This week I’m joined by Jake Hawkes — originally from Essex, now performing over in the Wirral. Honestly, one of the best songwriters I know… the guy can write about anything.

We chat about his songwriting, his approach to creativity, and — somehow — his plan to cure depression using googly eyes 👀 (you’ll have to hear that one for yourself).

Links in the comments — go check it out!
