It was a privilege today to mark the ten year anniversary since the death of Dr Kate Granger and her ground breaking “Hello My Name Is” campaign alongside Duncan @duncs62 and her husband @chrismpointon Kate was only 34 when she died but made a huge impact with the campaign to make healthcare givers more accessible to patients. She worked in the health service but during her own treatment for a rare cancer she realised how important those personal introductions were. It’s very moving to see those name badges everywhere today.. her true legacy. She and Chris also raised £250k for the @leedshospcharity - Kate swam the equivalent of the English Channel in a local pool while very poorly! 🥰 Duncan and I got to know Kate and Chris well as she campaigned in the media, while still working and dealing with her gruelling treatment. She was quite an incredible young woman. Today we watched a poignant play about their personal story in the atrium of the cancer specialist Bexley Wing at St James’s Hospital in Leeds where Dr Kate worked and was treated. It was put on by @plutoplaysuk and was so emotional and brought back that time, but it was also wonderful to see so many health professionals carrying those badges as they went about their work. Kate made such an impact in her short life. #hellomynameis #DrKateGranger

The big day is here! 🎉🎉🎉 Today saw the official opening of the new @martinhousech “The Build” after many years of fundraising. It was a pleasure to be there alongside my fellow Ambassadors Sir Gareth Southgate who did the official opening ceremony (swipe to second slide for the video!) and my TV hubby @duncs62 Great to catch up with @writeka, Editor of @yorkshirelifemag and @catherine_turnbull_writer, who edits @yorkshire_living. Also my big “little” girl @girlonpause ❤️ What started as a dream has become a reality. THE BUILD has transformed the hospice, making it better equipped to meet the changing needs of children and young people with life-shortening conditions. This is more than a building - it’s a promise to families across Yorkshire that Martin House will continue to be here when they need it most. Many years of fundraising, planning and building have now come to fruition, but the @martinhousech still needs millions every year to carry out its good work. Here’s to a great future 🥂🎉🥰 #proudambassador #hospice #Children #sirgarethsouthgate

Honestly I had the best week as host of the @ariateurope Stage at the @greatyorkshireshow. Thanks so much to @helenskelton @mattbakerofficial, Peter Wright @yorkshirevetc5 and @lin.wright.144 and Rob Dave Nicholson @robdavechf of @cannonhallfarm and the On The Farm series on @Channel5 for all being such wonderful guests - it was standing room only every day!! Well done to our producer @deemarshallx and Kat and Dan @avmatrix 🙂 If you fancy a #behindthescenes look check out my new Vlog- link in my bio and in stories - there was a LOT going on!! I also had a ball with my friend @bernadette_gledhill and the modelling and backstage team on the daily fashion shows. We had a lot of fun.
