Join us tomorrow at Shine Portrait Studio for a community partner press conference surrounding Duron Jackson's The Missing, an exhibition that confronts the reality of mass incarceration in America. An interactive and collaborative project, The Missing begins at Aljira as an art exhibition but becomes much more, as artists, students and the broader Newark community join Duron Jackson in sharing their stories of family and friends affected by mass incarceration.

The conference begins at 3pm.
RSVP for this Wednesday's press conference by emailing akneuer@aljira.org!

Duron Jackson’s “The Missing” explores the prison industrial complex’ enslavement of Black men through the personal lens of his brother and mother. Powerful show and a consistent theme since I met him around 2005. #injustice #prison #prisonindustrialcomplex #prisonindustry #political #politicalart #dominos #dominoes #art #artist #artwork #symbols #instaartist #instaart #instaartist #artistoninstagram #duronjackson #adebunmigbadebo #dexterwimberly #aljiracenterforcontemporaryart #aljira @duronjackson @adebooms @dexterwimberly @aljiraart
