POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last night 165 members of the Abergavenny community, gathered in the Victorian market hall. The event was called One Big Table, an event put on by a bunch of local folk who all volunteered their time, skills and love to the community. It was indeed, one Big Table!

There was live music, bar with local artisan drinks, arts and crafts at the table, families, friends and food! So much of the incredible ingredients and props were donated by local businesses. It was an absolute pleasure to feed the community in this way. The air miles on the menu was virtually nill, the local produce so good, that I wanted to let it shine without overcomplicating it.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing people round a table together, sharing food, pouring drinks and laughing. Community, family, friends, strangers ❤️ Kids running around, elderly doing crafts, strangers passing plates. That’s what it’s all about.

I didn’t get a chance to get any pictures of the food on the night, but I cooked the same menu at home so we could enjoy it as a family.

Placemat shows the businesses that contributed in some way, but doesn’t show the long list of amazing volunteers who worked so hard, meetings, planning, WhatsApp groups and phone calls. It could not have happened without the immense efforts of all the volunteers and donations from local businesses.

Love this town and love what community can do ❤️

Tonight I was so incredibly proud to call this home!

One Big Table was the most perfect way to kick off the @afoodfestival festivities!

The community came together for the most amazing feast thanks to the awesome @pompomcooks along with an epic team of volunteers!

It was a pleasure to run the bar with @sobremesa.drinks

Local food and drink, for local people!

Big thanks to @durry14 @littlegreenrefills and many others working behind the scenes for organising such a great event at @abergavenny_market

Ahead of the release of our next single, Hero on 30th January, here are some of our musical heroes. David’s choice…David Byrne

David Byrne feels like a hero because his music gave permission to be weird, smart, and joyful. With Talking Heads, he turned anxiety into groove—*Remain in Light* still sounds fearless. His voice, ideas, and restless curiosity taught me that art can be awkward, rhythmic, thoughtful, and completely alive all at once.
