POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

To tell a story together.

All these years later, I'm still scared every time someone trust me with their project.

It's hard to describe. On one hand I know I'll figure it out. On the other there's a weird lie I tell myself. What if I fuck it up.

I wanna do a great job. Part of that is craft. The more important part is something you can't see. It's a feeling I try to create inside others.

I wanna see people go from unsure to confident. To believe in themselves. To see them grow. To have them proud of themselves and look back with a great memory.

I could just shoot a thing. I could just do what I know works. I could just rinse and repeat. I'd rather not.

Filmmaking is fun and often the most fun with friction. To not know. To figure it out.

It's a little of me. A little of my client. A little of my crew. A little of all the things we borrow and find inspiration from. And this makes the project its own thing instead of the b version of something else.

Your story is special because it's yours.

You Became by @duskhaven_official is one part of a larger story we've been working together toward for the past few years. It's been an honor to be the partner in concepting the ideas, stories, characters and production alongside the DH guys 🤘

If you supported me this year, thank you ❤️

It’s been a good year for me. A tough one, but fully of meaning.

Running a creative service business is incredibly challenging and to be thought of and invested in means the world to me.

I’ve been able to support myself, feed my family, do a few small vacations, spend more on entertainment and create more personal projects.

Removing financial stress is a difference maker. I’m still living very lean, but I don’t feel myself needing as much and I’m wanting more, which is a great place to be. Feels good.

This year my focus was to taper back the conceptual, heavily produced work and do more rinse and repeat easy work. While that was the case, I don’t feel less creative.

My creative spirit has never felt more alive. The doc projects have me inspired and doing more follow up work for music video clients has felt low pressure and super fun. I’ve shipped some of my best work this year imo. A huge part of that is the trust factor. We’ve had more people just let us do our thing.

I didn’t set any financial goals this year. I just wanted to spend time with friends outside of work, get back to the movies and concerts, spend more time with my family and reduce stress.

I haven’t been this happy for this long ever in my creative career. Truly special.

On top of this, I feel more like a business owner than ever before without trying. I’ve got to pass more work to friends and fellow video companies than I have in a long time, I’ve been able to put more money in my friends pockets than years before and I’ve been able to pay myself well too. This is a rare year. Less mental gymnastics than usual.

So if you invested in me, referred a friend or cheered from the sidelines I thank you. I’m not sure how long this stretch will last before the next big challenge, but for now I’m just appreciate that I got to experience a season like this. I deserved this year. The foundation, confidence and creative capabilities are stronger than ever.

This is it, my last @the_afterburn post for 2026, the best weekend of my life. Counting down the days until next year. Can’t thank Joe enough for having me even though I frankly had no idea what I was doing when I showed up. Thanks to the whole media team for being the coolest guys and gals, love you all.
