A poem by James McCrae Instructions before visiting Earth In the event that you wake up and find your soul separated from source and manifest into material form, don’t panic. Your condition is only temporary. You have been selected for the opportunity of human incarnation. This 3D simulation is designed to break up the monotony of eternity by giving you a fully immersive experience as a distinct ego identity. Your body will serve as your physical avatar as you navigate a dense and dramatic reality. There will be many distractions causing you to forget your true nature and origin. You will experience a range of emotions from joy to loneliness to despair. But remember – no matter what trials and traumas you encounter, your soul remains perfectly safe. At times you may feel lost or afraid. This is totally normal. If you ever need guidance, simply slow down your busy mind and bring your awareness to the quiet place inside yourself. On this planet, nothing is permanent. People and things will come and go. You will fall in love and form sentimental attachments only to lose everything you hold dear. So cling to nothing too tightly, even yourself, and when it’s time to let go, let go with grace, for nothing is owned, only borrowed. As you walk among the people on the planet, try to be a good guest. Tread lightly. Remember that you are only visiting. Don’t make a mess. Listen more than you speak. Give more than you take. Don’t keep your soft heart locked inside a glass cage, protected from wear and tear. You’ll never make it out alive and time passes quickly. So come back with some battle scars and good stories to tell.

The Temple burn is always sad and thought provoking. This year particularly so as we mourned the loss of a beloved tribe member. My memories of a previous loss flooded back as the flames devoured the structure. After the last supports fell we held each other as the tears slowed and the intense sadness subsided. Gratitude to @joelssnaps for providing Snort and the space to grieve. . . . #afrikaburn2026 #afrikaburn

This year's clan burn called Ubuntu was the most spectacular I have had the pleasure of attending. The wind blowing embers over the watching burners emphasized how unpredictable life can be even when all precautions are taken. . #afrikaburn #afrikaburn2026 #ubuntu #photography #nightphotography

Honestly, we don’t even know where to begin. Going through photos has brought back so many moments, and we’re feeling incredibly grateful for the time we got to spend together in the Tankwa. ❤️‍🔥 This year asked a lot of us as Rangers, with added responsibilities and even an 18-hour shift from Saturday into Sunday — exhausting, rewarding, and somehow still filled with laughter and connection the whole way through. There were countless moments of chaos, joy, silliness, deep conversations, beautiful sunrises, and unforgettable experiences shared with incredible humans. The kind of memories that settle somewhere deep and stay with you long after the dust is gone. ✨🌈 The artwork this year was spectacular. So much intention and effort went into every piece, and the Binnekring absolutely delivered. Clan was massive, and the Temple — inspired by local rondawels with dung floors and built-in string instruments throughout — felt deeply grounding and special. The people made the magic what it was. It’ll probably take us a while to fully return to reality, but we already know we’ll be back next year for more adventures, more connection, and more shenanigans. Until next time, Tankwa. ❤️‍🔥✨🌈 — Pixi & Phoenix
