We recently linked up with BMU Pande for an impactful session focused on building stronger community-based organizations along the coast. 🌱

With 16+ BMU members on board, we had real conversations, shared experiences, learned together and explored ways to level up their leadership, teamwork, coordination and impact in the community. 🤝

This wasn’t just another training, it was a step toward creating stronger, more organized, informed, accountable and sustainable Beach Management Units that can confidently speak up, take part in decision-making and lead solutions for healthier, more resilient coastal communities. 🌊

Through the Community Organizational Strengthening Program, we’re supporting BMUs and CBOs with the skills, knowledge, systems and confidence they need to grow, lead and create meaningful change. 💪🏾✨

🙏 Big shoutout to @vsotanzania for the continued support in making this work happen.

🌊 Day 2 and closing day of #BEFF2026

This second day confirmed a strong conviction: the blue economy is becoming an investment reality.

Panel 3, Scaling Blue Foods: Investment Pathways for Sustainable and Resilient Food Systems, highlighted the critical role of aquatic foods, sustainable aquaculture and small-scale fisheries in strengthening global food security.

Panel 4, Anchoring the Blue Economy: Integrating Ocean Finance into Global Capital Markets, explored the conditions needed to fully integrate the blue economy into global financial markets.

📢 “What does the Ocean need from us?” asked Marisa Drew @stanchart , emphasizing the importance of designing projects with the Ocean in mind from the outset to reduce risks, improve viability and attract investment.

The day concluded with a keynote address by Ambroise Fayolle, Vice-President of the @europeaninvestmentbank , who highlighted the unique role of BEFF in building bridges between finance, business and public decision-makers.

In their closing remarks, Robert Calcagno, CEO of @oceanomonaco , and Romain Ciarlet, Vice-Chairman & CEO of @fondationprincealbert2 , reaffirmed the importance of accelerating collaboration between investors, businesses, institutions and civil society to unlock the full potential of a sustainable blue economy.

Thank you to all participants for these two days of dialogue, innovation and commitment to make the Ocean an economic, environmental and financial priority.

Ocean exhibition with @changenow_world at the @le_grand_palais. A forever best memory for me in my journey.

8 years into this journey, full of highs and lows.

The highs make it all worth it. Moments like this one, and the messages I receive from teachers and parents about the impact my workshops have had on their children… those are the real rewards.

The lows are quieter but constant. The uncertainty, the struggle to build a sustainable living from what I believe in. Applying for grants, funding and charging for my work often means having to repeatedly justify that this work matters, that nurturing empathy, care, and emotional awareness through art and environmental awareness in children is essential.

If I wanted the easy route, I would have stayed in my old job. If this were about self-promotion, I would have chosen a very different path. I remind myself that not everyone will understand what I’m doing, and that’s okay. I let it pass and keep going. Because when the highs come, they come with so much joy and happiness that the stony road fades for a moment. It doesn’t mean it isn’t there.

Over the years, I’ve learned that not everyone will be your friend, and not everyone will be happy for you. And that’s okay too. Because there are friends and people that are happy for you. And that are your people. It can push you in new directions, towards new people. I believe that’s part of the journey.

I just felt like sharing these words, just a reflection of these past 8 years. Nothing else 🤗

Há conversas que ficam. 🌊
