🖤 Midnight - 10/13/26 🤍

So much love at the Clock. I am constantly blown away by these artists and grateful for each opportunity I have to see this show. What a gift it is to get to experience theatre like this that makes me think and question and feel - that is true artistry.

I love this show, I love this cast, and I love sharing it with my girl @katoffstage … thank you to everyone at @midnight who has welcomed us. It is an honor supporting you all.

My telecharge survey response: "This is objectively the most thought-provoking, entertaining AND simultaneously far-reaching musical we've ever had."

I'm so grateful for @midnight. I've been yearning for music within a musical to move me. I have craved Black excellence and all of our beauty on stage. I've been wanting big-brained theater that challenges me, my way of thinking and my ability to connect to the perspectives of others. So I'm biased because MIDNIGHT is very specifically everything I've been waiting for. 🤷🏿‍♀️

I was a blubbering mess most of the show 🤦🏾‍♀️🫣
I cried because those performances were standout! I cried because the writing is so special. I cried because I had started to believe there may be no space for my work, and it turns out... there is! I cried because I was challenged (and if I'm being honest, kind of disappointed in myself!). And y'all, this cast is immensely talented, but beyond that, they are such a gracious, kind, FUN and beautiful group of people!

Say what you want about the show, although much of the discourse has been disheartening tbh. It is powerful. It is art. It is no doubt imperfect, but so is this world and its people, which it represents.

It has extended, and you should go see it!

The VOCALS in this cast 🤯🎤

One of my favorite things about live theater is experiencing extraordinary talent up close, and the cast of Midnight delivered some truly beautiful vocal performances.

Giving these performers their flowers! 💐

MIDNIGHT • Daryl Roth Theatre • EXTENDED Through January 3rd

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Todrick Hall’s new musical delivers an extraordinary score, sensational choreography, and voices that take your breath away. It’s the first musical to receive The BroadGAYS’ MUST-SEE designation. Tickets are nearly sold out, but you may be able to get one through the website or rush.

For a pretty interesting explanation of the plot go visit @sweatyoracle

“After Midnight” 🕛

I have no words and so many words all at once. First, Todrick, you are such a light in the creative space, the Black community, the gay community, and the world. I don’t think I had a dry eye throughout the entire performance. This show moved me in ways I can’t even begin to describe.

I know there’s been discourse surrounding this production, and I understand the subject matter is difficult. But so was the period in history in which this story takes place. As a Black gay man, watching a story that reflects two parts of my identity while confronting a history that is very much my own was incredibly emotional. What I appreciated most was how tastefully and thoughtfully it was handled. It didn’t shy away from the brutality of the time, but it also allowed moments of tenderness, humanity, and love to exist within it. Art is meant to move us, challenge us, and spark conversations that aren’t always comfortable. Not every love story gets a happy ending, and sometimes that’s what makes it all the more powerful.

The set, stunning. The lighting, brilliant. The choreography, top tier. The music, electrifying. The acting, phenomenal. And the VOCALS? Otherworldly. MA’AM.

I could go on and on, but I’ll leave it at this: Go see Midnight if you can. Experience it for yourself and form your own opinion. Because from where I was sitting, it was a masterpiece.

Can’t wait for round two on November 8th. 🤍🖤

“What would happen if we rewrote the past?”
This is my latest piece for @midnight, and I just continue to be in awe of this masterpiece of a show. A particular favorite for me is always the costumes by @bckjnes (Those who know me know my LOVE of costumes). Todrick & the rest of this cast are some of the loveliest people you will ever meet, and they’ve created an absolute magical, transformative show. I’m endlessly grateful for the experience of Midnight & the community we’ve found in it. It’s raised important discussions, brought people together, and at its core is such a gorgeous piece of art & I will forever be inspired by it.

One of the best nights of my entire life. I literally have no words to describe the strong energy, the raw emotion, the real talent of these amazing human beings.
Midnight WILL become a true broadway show in the very near future. I have never seen anything like it in my life. I have never witnessed such a heart wrenching yet inspiring story.
“We don’t get to choose the roles we’re born into. We only get to choose how we play them.”
That line. That is my favorite line from the show.

I cried. I laughed. I cried some more. It really made me appreciate and cherish the kind of life I get to live. My life is far from perfect, I struggle with health issues on a daily basis. I have illnesses that have no cures. But I have a roof over my head, I have clothes on my back, I have food on my table. I’m alive and well for the most part. I have a family who loves me. I have friends who I can go to when I need someone.

My father was a Dominican/African American man. He sacrificed so much for me and my brother. He worked his ass off every single day and night. He made sure we had everything we ever wanted.
He passed away last year in July, but I know if he saw this show, he would’ve been blown away by it.

Our ancestors walked so we could run. I’m proud of who I am. I’m proud of where I come from.

Watch this amazing show with an open mind and an open heart. Put yourself in other peoples’ shoes.

I feel so incredibly lucky that I had the chance to see the show and to meet all the cast members.
You guys are beyond talented. Keep being you. Keep inspiring hundreds and thousands of people.

I love you all. Thank you for an amazing night that my mom and I will never ever forget. 🖤🤍🖤🤍
