𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝘆, 𝗦𝗲𝘁, 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹!
Visions had a blast in partnership with @dwayprograms, engaging youth in linear algebra basics through Marble Run. Youth spent the day:
👷 Designing and building Marble Runs in teams
🗻 Learning about the effect of gravity and slopes and their effect on the speed of marbles
🏁 Participating in a Marble Race, applying what they learned about speed, slopes and gravity to build the best Marble Run

It’s great to see youth engaged and working with each other to participate in friendly competition. Thank you to @dwayprograms for your ongoing partnership!

✨ 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 𝗷𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗻𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸. Growing up in inner-city communities in Toronto, 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘇𝗮 and 𝗦𝗮𝗿𝗮 lacked the resources to pursue their 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗠 passions. Visions of Science provided the 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗸, 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽, and 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 that transformed their paths from 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘁𝘀 to 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀.

Sara leveraged support through internships and scholarship assistance to attend Queen’s University for Health Sciences, giving back as a campus ambassador and Visions program facilitator. Hamza and his friend Ilays, both program facilitators at Visions, used their new skills and confidence to co-found @dwayprograms , a non-profit filling the programming gap in their community.

The true ripple effect of ‘Fueling STEM Futures’ is 𝗲𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 who 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 for 𝗵𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗿𝗲𝗱𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲.

✨This Giving Tuesday, invest in the ripple effect of exponential change & community transformation by Fueling STEM Futures, because changing one life changes hundreds more.

Hamza’s journey was sparked by a trip to the ROM with Visions of Science, and almost 10 years later, he’s now a Program Facilitator and has started his own non-profit, @dwayprograms for underserved youth in his community, with his friend and Visions of Science colleague, Ilyas.

Your commitment will shape futures and strengthen entire communities for generations to come.

🌱 Investing in youth is investing in the future 🌱

We’re proud to support D-WAY, a program that’s creating a safe, supportive, and educational space for our youth. They are able to learn leadership, life skills, and confidence while gaining access to meaningful experiences inside and outside their communities.

At CAFE, we believe youth and community are the pillars of a healthy city. These young leaders show us just how bright the future can be. ✨

We encourage you to learn more, get involved, and support their mission. Connect with them at @dwayprograms

A huge thank you to the City of Toronto CCRP team for making this possible - your support helps us continue creating experiences that inspire and empower our youth.🩵🙌
