Yesterday, Baseball America named Dylan Dreiling the Rangers' Minor League Player of the Year and it's hard to argue.

Dreiling spent the entire season at Double-A Frisco and set new professional career highs in average, OBP, slugging, OPS and RBI, slashing .312/.380/.516/.896 with 22 home runs, 84 RBI, 55 walks and 14 steals.

He finished second in the Texas League in hits (148), and at one point had a 25-game hitting streak — the longest in Double-A this year — and posted a 1.022 OPS over his last 50 games.

The Rangers went a different direction with their own Tom Grieve award, honoring Rafe Perich, who led the organization in average (.315), homers (27) and OPS (.987).

Neither one is wrong. Who's your pick?

HISTORY IN TEXAS 📜

Dylan Dreiling just put together one of the most impressive months in Texas League history.

The numbers: .429 AVG | 4 HR | 17 RBI | 36 H | .484 OBP | 1.151 OPS in 20 August games

The history: His .429 batting average became the best in recorded Texas League history (since 2005) among hitters with at least 95 plate appearances in a calendar month - passing San Antonio’s Mike Baxter, who hit .426 in May 2009.

The streak: A 25-game hitting streak from July 31 through September 5 — the longest stretch for any Double-A hitter this year.

Full season: .314 AVG | 22 HR | 83 RBI | .911 OPS | 26 2B in 111 games.

The Rangers’ second-round pick in 2024 out of Tennessee is tracking toward being an outfield option in Arlington by 2027.

Rangers No. 10 prospect Dylan Dreiling hasn’t gone hitless in a game since JULY 🤯

The 23-year-old outfielder has been a force lately, recording at least one hit in each of his last 22 games, totaling 40 hits, 6 HR, 9 2B, and 21 RBI. In that span he’s batting .430, raising his season average from .288 to a Texas League-best .319.

His 22-game streak is the current longest in MiLB, and he extended it in fitting fashion with his 22nd long ball of the season, finishing the night 3-for-5 with a double.

Heading into September, the 2024 College World Series MVP for the Tennessee Vols may find himself finishing the season with Round Rock at his current pace.
