Happy birthday to the one and only Dylan Reese!!! Celebrate today like the queen you are in this picture! 😂
You are truly a gift…a gift to love, to parent, to watch grow. It is such a joy to watch you evolve into the woman God has created you to be. A woman of confidence, character, individuality, purpose. You laugh and love without abandon…you own who you are - and more importantly, who you aren’t. You are silly, fun, sincere, caring. And you are SIXTEEN!! Let’s go to Mexico, queen! @dylan.reese5

Happy Sweet 16 to my beautiful Dylan.

Sixteen years ago today, I met a little girl who would forever change my heart. Today, I look at you and find myself wishing I could slow time down—just enough to enjoy each version of you a little longer.

You are so much fun, so wonderfully silly, and so thoughtful. I love the way you can make us laugh, but I love just as much the heart behind that laughter. You care. You notice people. You bring joy into our family simply by being yourself.

I hope you know how much I enjoy being your dad. Watching you become your own person is one of the greatest gifts of my life. Sometimes I still see my little girl when I look at you, and sometimes I catch a glimpse of the woman you’re becoming. Both take my breath.

As you turn sixteen, there is something I want you to carry with you: you never have to earn your place in my heart. On your best days, your hardest days, and the days you’re still figuring things out, you are deeply loved.

I pray you keep that tender heart, that wonderful laugh, and the courage to be yourself. I pray you see the beauty God placed in you as clearly as I do. There is so much life ahead of you, sweetheart. I’m excited to watch you live it.

Happy birthday, Dylan. Being your dad will always be one of my greatest joys. Now let’s go live it up in Mexico!

P.S. Thanks for always pointing out anything you think looks Catholic and saying, “look Dad, Catholic!” just because I went to ND. 😂
