People have asked about this year’s Burning Man season. This would have been my 15th year since 2009 working to build the city.

But this year I chose to hold onto my straight job as maintenance man at a local youth homeless shelter. To spend the summer being more or less responsible. And honestly I have no regrets. I’ve had a pretty great summer with my wonderful partner @lexstatic having local adventures, and eating like an absolute monarch nearly every night. And I also got to play music with my BRC friends @dylanblackthorn @buck_ae_down @fiddlekiller @hoffgrid and others!

Case in point: tonight we are eating Monte Cristo sandwiches, and no lie, this is the best Monte Cristo I have ever had, while @gozerthedepupstor looks on in abject betrayal.

I have a charmed life. Not trouble-free or easy, but I’m feeling pretty good about my choices right now. May you all get the summer you signed up for. I know I did.

I cannot being to stress enough how much weird art means to me. Thanks @thetinyminotaur and @theehobogobbelins for reminding me.

the WHY CHEAP ART? manifesto
PEOPLE have been THINKING too long that
ART is a PRIVILEGE of the MUSEUMS & the
RICH. ART IS NOT BUSINESS !
It does not belog to banks & fancy investors
ART IS FOOD . You cant EAT it BUT if FEEDS
you. ART has to be CHEAP & available to
EVERYBODY . It needs to be EVERYWHERE
because it is the INSIDE of the
WORLD.

ART SOOTHES PAIN !
Art wakes up sleepers !
ART FIGHTS AGAINST WAR & STUPIDITY !
ART SINGS HALLELUJA !
ART IS FOR KITCHENS !
ART IS LIKE GOOD BREAD!
Art is like green trees!
Art is like white clouds in blue sky !
ART IS CHEAP !
HURRAH!
