This is Douglas Jung, our QUINN! We are so glad to have figured out slippery shoes, particular humor, and plate maneuvering with this guy. He’s got a swagger he brought to QUINN that we are so appreciative of. We won't spoil anything but look how slick he looks in this leather jacket!

Nika Burnett our CALISTA! Nika can make you laugh with a mere glance, and we are so privileged to have her magnetic presence for our project. We must profess to having a hard time picking which of the multiple hilarious takes of hers to use for our final cut. An adroit actress with a kilowatt smile, we can’t thank her enough.

For this post we’d like to spotlight members of our CAMERA CREW :D !!

Our 1st AC MJ Kampe, 2nd AC Lorenzo Nunziati, and A Cam Operator / Steadi Op Gio Barot! These folks worked on all our camera navigation, marks, focus pulling, clap boards and more! We had them piloting through some tight rooms at points and they were stellar. Having their work on this was such a boon and it’ll be so exciting for you all to see the final product with their hard work!

Ashton Solecki, our JULIA! It is so pleasant and satisfying to witness and be around a person so aligned with themselves, an actress who moves and performs synced with her body and energy. There is a fluidity and candor to Ashton that is unmatched. And, she is such an enchanting, funny human. Much love for what she brought to our set and JULIA.

Sophie Steele, our HAZEL! After our callbacks, the only HAZEL we ended up calling back for chemistry reads was Sophie. While we had many amazing actresses come in, seeing Sophie’s performance during our callbacks made everything click. Not to sound dramatic, but she truly embodied the character that was inside our writer’s brain, in a way that evoked the high casting directors must chase finding the perfect person. She reminded him of his friends who inspired the character so much it was uncanny. Her heart is undeniable. A gift.

Rehearsal Day for our Proof of Concept shoot! Filled with walkthroughs, snacking on crafty, and intense sun. We were very blessed to be able to rehearse in our space before the shoot days. But our location was high on a mountain in Malibu, above the cloudline, so the sun was quite scorching. Sunscreen was our friend.

Our director, @adrianelliot, had the cast do some warm ups, tongue twisters and the like, and the one that stuck in the cast’s brains the entire shoot was as follows: ‘A box. A box of biscuits. A box of mixed biscuits in a biscuit mixer.’ Try saying that five times fast. I dare you. It’s really hard. And, it makes you crave a homemade biscuit with a fresh blackberry jam. Mmm.

$Hello from the CRASH OUT team! CRASH OUT is a television series, an existential dramedy about a friend group losing its core, founding member, the ensuing fracturing revealing the underlying lost isolation each person can feel even in a group, and just how much one person held things together. Stay tuned for insights into our proof of concept’s production, seeing the amazing people involved, informative yet quirky captioning, and more! This show and production has a lot of love for our story and characters, as well as a graciousness and desire to share all the talented people involved in it with the world! We’re really excited to put this story out there. :) photo credit - Harry$
