Celebrating 20 years of Lichting at The HUB26.

Together with @gemeenteamsterdam, we looked back at two decades of emerging fashion talent through a special exhibition marking the 20th anniversary of @lichtingnl.

Bringing together one look from each edition, the exhibition formed a living archive of the designers, ideas and perspectives that have shaped Lichting from 2007 to today.

From graduation work to independent labels, international fashion houses and creative practices spanning art, music and culture, the exhibition celebrated how far these talents have travelled and the impact they continue to have on Dutch fashion.

Thank you to all Lichting participating talents, and everyone who shared their work, stories and voices in celebration of twenty years of Lichting and to everyone who visited the exhibition at The HUB26.

Founded in 2007 Lichting brings together the most promising graduates from Dutch fashion academies and shows their work to the professional fashion world. For many designers, it marks an important first step into the industry.

To celebrate its 20th edition, De Hallen Amsterdam presents 20 Years of Lichting – Captured by catwalk photographer Peter Stigter: a retrospective exhibition featuring large-scale runway photography alongside backstage and behind-the-scenes images by Peter Stigter, who has documented Lichting since the beginning.
Lichting is a collaboration between HTNK and Amsterdam Fashion Week. On view at De Hallen it offers the public an exclusive look at a comprehensive visual archive celebrating the country’s best fashion talents.
