WALK ON! Three years ago we started our campaign for a blue plaque on Tooting Granada with a fabulous musical history tour ‘All You Need is Peace, Love and Flower to The People’. Absolutely true, we banged out the tunes and the memories overflowed but we really needed some power so people could hear the message. HUGE THANKS to Kirk, Tooting & AFC Wimbledon legend @djayjonesy for allowing us to give the music proper amplification at the spectacular plaque unveiling event last Saturday. Honestly son, Charlie Watkins, whose WEM speakers fired The Stones in Hyde Park and Hendrix at the Isle of Wight would be proud of you!

This weekend’s Tour of Tooting Granada/Buzz Bingo Hall unleashed a wave of glorious memories; of bunking in free to the Saturday morning cowboy show, of seeing The Beatles and Frank Sinatra or witnessing Jayne Mansfield and John Wayne sprinkling their Hollywood stardust on Mitcham Road! Get ready to preserve these memories forever with a historic blue plaque!
SATURDAY 27 JUNE 2-4PM, ALL WELCOME as we unveil the plaque and celebrate the galaxy of stars who once performed here at the world famous Tooting Granada/Buzz Bingo Hall! 50 Mitcham Road, 2-4pm.

FRANKIE SAYS ‘Let’s put a blue plaque on Tooting Granada’! Without question the best way to create a permanent legacy and inform the public about the roll-call of entertainment world giants who for over two decades performed at ‘The Vegas of South London’. And what a privilege to be delivering our latest ‘Show Time’ spectacle under the same roof! Thanks to Jeevah and everyone at Buzz Bingo for allowing us to take the stage in ‘The Hall of Mirrors’ on Friday - modelled on the Galerie des Glaces in the Palace of Versailles, its one of the eye-watering star attractions of Komisarjevsky’s south London masterpiece. This one is a sell-out but we’ll be back soon hopefully so watch this space for more dates!

‘Without people you’re nothing!’ Unveiling of the Joe Strummer memorial stone at the top of Walterton Road, W9: at the other end, at 101, Joe lived with and formed his group The 101’ers. We met 2 of the original founding members of the 101rs Richard Dudanski drummer and author of ‘Squat City Rockers’ and photographer Jules Yewdell, author of ‘A perfect Record’ an incredible photo journal of Joe’s early days in the 101rs and the Clash. They both posed for their photograph and later spoke to the audience fondly about their experiences and friendship with Joe in The 101rs. We also got to meet Pat Gilbert @punk_dreams who has written a seminal book on the Clash ‘Passion is a fashion.’ What a day to remember. Thanks to @joestrummerfund @citywestminster & @portobello.radio for making today happen 🙏
