.@dynamacabre left a stalled New York for a job at Ableton and found Berlin still dark by four. LMNO, her new album, is out now on Protomaterial Records. It holds an unsent voice memo, a scarf knitted for someone who left, and the four letters children sing as one word. She asks the room to spell it out and keeps the blur.

DINA MACCABEE - PURCHASE “LMNO” NOW - AVAILABLE ON BANDCAMP AND ACROSS ALL PLATFORMS

🎧 Link in bio

Composer, violist, and songwriter Dina Maccabee—who has worked with Julia Holter, Feist, Tune-Yards, Vienna Teng, Carla Kihlstedt, and many others—releases “LMNO,” her new album, and with it steps to the front of songs that are wholly her own. The title comes from a line in “Spell It Out,” the cheeky pop-punk hook at the center of an otherwise introverted record: “Hit me with the LMNO!”—a plea for clarity, for expectations broken down into the simplest possible terms. Across eight songs, that fantasy of certainty is steadily dismantled, as the narrator lets go of waiting for meaning to arrive already decoded and instead accepts the “heavy duty responsibility” of co-creating understanding.
