I’m back… 400 for 4, top-set. Been on a bigger plyo and strength block as of late and it’s been fun

A massive THANK YOU to our amazing sponsors for supporting the 2026, 5th Annual APU Cowtown Showdown! 🤠💪

We couldn’t do it without you! Your generosity helps us put on an incredible meet, celebrate our lifters and continue growing the powerlifting community here in Calgary.

It takes a community to make events like this happen, and we’re grateful to have businesses and people behind us who share our passion for the sport. Thank you for showing up for our athletes and helping make this year’s Showdown one to remember! 🙌

Please show our sponsors some love and support the businesses that support your sport! ❤️

These felt pretty strong, just need to settle the pauses more on the initial reps.

These aren't the only factors, but they're important because of how connected they are.

Your mindset impacts your discipline during recovery, and the people guiding you can heavily influence that mindset.

Whether it's a coach, trainer, massage therapist, chiro, or physio, choose people who encourage movement and build confidence, not fear or dependency.

I'm also not saying to only be around yes men, or to get too aggressive with recovery. I am saying to explore options and find a solid team, and be more selective on how you look for help from.

How you're guided can shape your recovery. If you're made to believe your body is fragile, you may never get back to where you were.

That is why I work with the amazing group out of Dynamic YYC. Having the right group of people can make all the different and positively shift your mindset.

Strength felt ok here. Definitely flaring a bit too much, but my legs were at a better height. Been enjoying getting back to the higher rep work.

🩷✨*" everything that happens today is because of me

DB INVERTED FACE “PULL”

When training a specific position, be it to expand ROM or strength, zoom out a bit.

It’s easy to narrow your vantage point to training concentrically to gain access to ROM but eccentric loading to longer ranges is an excellent way to “stretch” and build strength.

Keep in mind, there are more muscles that internally rotate that happen to be a lot bigger than the muscles that externally rotate! Don’t neglect these bad bois!

Overall I'm happy with how these went. Much more balanced and less twisted which is an improvement.

These felt solid. Always very challenging on positioning and my brace. I'm glad to be back training like normal.

Realized this is exactly what I was missing from my training. I used to have stiff bar pulls in my training all the time, but got away from them.

Excited to see what I can do with stiff bar pulls again.
