3D Breakdown time! 🎥 I really enjoyed working on this project . It’s full of tiny elements and micro-details everywhere. I had so much fun managing all the dirt and wear levels, and texturing was such an important (and super fun!) part of the process. I especially loved creating the neon lighting mood and scripting the flickering animation. It was so satisfying to bring those little lights to life. It was definitely a challenge to get everything done in such a short time, but I love challenges! This project was made for @dyskorder , huge thanks to them for their trust 🙌 On the technical side: I started in @autodesk MAYA to model everything. For the papers, I used @photoshop to create alphas . And yes, every bit of text was drawn by hand with my evil mouse 😅. Then I generated all the transparency masks and imported them into @substance3dart to texture each element. Once the texturing was done, everything went back to @autodesk MAYA for shading and lighting. After getting the mood I wanted, I framed the shot, added a little camera traveling, and scripted a random neon flicker animation in Python using Maya’s Expression Editor (huge time saver!). Finally, I exported the frames to @davinciresolved for the final color pass, added some neon noise and those subtle smoke effects at the end. Such a fun project from start to finish! ⚡✨
