10 years! Wow, here’s to the greatest championship run in pro softball history. If you didn’t watch or know the back story you probably wouldn’t even believe it. The best SS and 3B in the game had just retired. The best pitcher in the world left our team for the first million dollar contract in softball.
All the while we had a group in Chicago that wanted to continue our winning tradition but was learning how to win all summer. We had to grow ugly mustaches and wear crazy orange board shorts just to make playoffs. In round one we get matched up with Scrap Yard. I remember people telling me congratulations on a great season by getting to playoffs, but we had no shot to beat Monica. I looked at our group during our last practice in Chicago and told them not only will we win the series, but we’re going to win the championship.
After a grueling 3 game series win that included unbelievable plays by everyone in our group, and gritty pitching by Bunner after puking her guts out between innings of game 1, and an amazing diving catch by Brenna Moss in game 3 we got the Yankees of pro softball, the USSSA Pride. I’ll never never forget walking back into the hotel after we had to turn around and play game 1 of the championship series 30 minutes after finishing our Scrap Yard series, and the owners of USSSA walking up to us and saying thanks for making their road to the championship easier by knocking off Scrap Yard.
As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, or in this case as we said in Chicago, just three words…”FTP.” #Back2Back #FTP

Thank you to Coach Healy, the coaching staff, and the players for a great day in Madison!

I had a great time learning, competing, and continuing to develop my game while getting to experience Wisconsin Softball and everything the program has to offer.

Grateful for the opportunity and excited to keep working!
